Wasting My Time?

I have an appt. at L'Elite for their sample sale this Sunday.  I know many of their gowns are way over my $2,000 budget but I'm hoping that with the SS I will be able to find something I like.

Has anyone found their dress at one of their sample sales or am I just going to be wasting my time and end up disappointed?

I haven't been to L'Elite, but I bought a sample dress, a 4500.00 Claire Pettibone for 2500.00 since the dress was discontinued. It looks brand new, but just needs to be taken in since it is the sample size. I wouldn't have been able to afford the 4500.00 (although I was in love so I may have bought it but would have been paying it off for a while)! But I recommend at least seeing what they have since you can save a lot!

Thanks I know I'm just second guessing myself and I don't have to buy.

Claire Pettibone is awesome, her dresses are exquisite.

The thing is I'm kind of obsessed with a Monique Lhullier dress from her 2010 Fall Collection: It's called Confection and it originally retails for 5200.  So I either need to try it on and hate it...or hope that it is discounted enough.  Fingers crossed.

I got a sample dress that was a Maggie Sottoreo for a quarter of the price like 600 and it was a 2000 dollar dress. It needed some cleaning and fixes but other wise it was in good shape. It wouldn't hurt for you to look. Don't feel pressured. Go to different stores and see if they have sample dresses to try on. That is how I found mine.

I went there last night for the "sale" and did not have a good experience at all!

First off, there is one mirror in the entire place, and it's not even a three way mirror. The shoes they give you to try on gowns with looked dirty, as did the dressing room floor.

The sales girl was not very accomodating-she made me hold dresses I had just tried on until she was done taking new ones off the hanger. Just not professional service if you ask me.

I don't know what your taste is gowns is like, but the only one I liked was a full priced Monique Lhuillier. One entire rack was full of beige (not ivory) wedding dresses with tons of beading-they looked like prom dresses to me.

Having been to Priscilla of Boston already, I can tell you L'Elite does not even come CLOSE to Priscilla when it comes to service.

If you do buy a gown at L'Elite, make sure you do your homework and read their reviews. I've seen some bad reviews when it comes to alterations.

In any event, I am glad I went-at least I know it's not the bridal salon for me. Perhaps you will a better experience than I did.

    Best wishes to you!

Thanks for the review.  I have heard good things and bad things about them.  I'm thinking of going to Priscilla as well I liked some of their Vineyard collection dresses.  Well fingers crossed that I have a good experience this weekend even if I don't find what I am looking for.

I personally had a great experience at L'Elite, and found my dress there last month. They have at least 3 mirrors in the salon, 1 in each dressing room area. I loved my consultant and I would definitely recommend going there, at least to see which dresses are on sale because you never know!

I'm definitely going to be checking out Pricilla's then.  I've never heard a bad review.  Thanks for the input ladies.
