Etiquette for Readers

What is the etiquette for readers from out of town?  Should I pay for their travel expenses?  Am I expected to pay for their hotel?

Guests (including readers) are usually responsible for their own travel expenses and accomodations. If you are doing gifts for your wedding party and parents, it would be nice to include the readers in that and give them a small gift of thanks!

I agree with SK.  It isn't necessary that you pay for their travel - they are still guests are your wedding.

Ditto pp.  We treated our readers like our BMs and GMs.  They got small gifts as a token of our appreciation and were invited to the rehearsal dinner but other than that they had to pay for attire and travel.

I agree with everyone else.  A  gift would be nice, and invite them to the rehersal/rehersal dinner, but anything more then that is not expected.
