Not really, of course, not in the way that my mom had a girlfriend.
But he is making a friend. This guy he works with invited us to join his bowling league, and we did, and now that guy stop by Mr. Kuus's cubicle to chat daily, always invites us to hang out after league, and this past Saturday he drove out of his way to watch Mr. Kuus's bowling lesson and chit-chat afterward. And apparently he/we are hanging out with this guy on Wednesday night, too.
It's like watching I Love You, Man live. Poor Mr. Kuus has no real friends, just one casual friend from his old hockey league (and even that one started out as my friend, and then I sort of friend-matchmade). And of course there was Awesome, but he doesn't come around any more.
