where did you buy your dress?

so i think i'm close to picking my dress but i'm not sure where to buy it. i've been to a few bridal shops (one of which i've heard is overpriced) but i'd like to hear from someone who has gone through the whole process (purchasing and alterations). a lot of the store reviews i read online are from brides who haven't purchased their gown yet or had alterations done and i know that some stores can seem great until they have your money...

i'm probably gonna go with a sophia tolli dress, so recommendations of any stores that carry her stuff would be especially appreciated!

I got mine at Russell's in Linden... no charge for alterations (already had 2 fittings).

I purchased my gown at Exquisite Bride in Millburn. My experience with them has been nothing but fabulous. The girls there are very helpful and knowledgeable. I went for my first fitting two weeks ago, and I will be going for my 2nd in about 2 more weeks. Their seamstress spent a lot of time with me making sure everything was exactly the way I want.

I highly recommend them!

Designer Loft West in South Orange. Not sure if they carry your manufacturer, but they have a great selection. I posted a review further up the page about them. I frickin love that place.

I second Russell's! They have been great to work with for my dress (free alterations and free bustle), my bridesmaids, and my flower girls! They even threw in free alterations for my flower girls.

I ordered mine from Priscilla of Boston in short hills. Amazing experience there and going back next week for my matron of honor's gown.
Jenn-I also had a WONDERFUL experience at exqusite in millburn and though i didn't get my gown there, I would defintiely recommend.

I got mine at Park Avenue Bridals... Can't say anything about the alterations yet, because my first fitting is this weekend (Jroo- you're making me feel like a slacker again!!), but I can keep you posted. I've had a really good experience with them. I know some people on here had negative things to say, but so far nothing but raves from me! We got all our dresses there. Bridemaids, MOB, flower girl, and me.
My best friend and matron of honor got her dress at Bijou. She LOVED them. I had planned to go there also, but found my dress at Park Ave and ended the search!
