3 Things

Let's play a game. Everyone list 3 things that you are thankful for, and why. Because of all the break-ups around here as of late, and because those of us with SOs are obviously thankful for them, DO NOT use an SO as one of your three things.

And go!

    1. I'm incredibly thankful that my parents are paying for my college education. They are so supportive of all of the decisions I've made in life. I love that they support me without pressuring me to do what they want.

    2. I'm thankful that even though my best friend and I have different religious beliefs we care about each other that we can respect those beliefs. I have a lot of friends getting back from their LDS missions and my best friend has made it clear to every one of them that I don't need the you should convert speech. Given the community we grew up in that means a lot to me.

    3. I'm thankful for all of you gals. Since moving to Colorado I haven't had an easy time making friends. I;ve made friends in class but no one I hang out with outside of class. I swear you girls keep me sane :)

This is my 500th post! Woohoo! Noob no longer.

    1. I am thankful for my 2 wonderful pups. They are so sweet and smart. We are so lucky to have them.

    2. I am thankful for my IRL girlfriend, L. We haven't seen each other in forever, but she is one of the most supportive people I've ever met. She is so kind and nurturing and I am so happy she's a part of my life.

    3. I am thankful to be where I am in life right now. I've had a lot of family stuff going on lately that's made me realize I made good choices and worked hard to have what I have and I am proud of myself for it.

ETA: I still have the Noob badge. Does it not go away until your 501st post? Undecided

1.) I am thankful for my girlfriends! We always have a great time together. We see each other through the good and the bad. I felt so lost after I moved to CO right out of college. It can be tough to meet people when you're not surrounded by people your own age. Now that I've established a network of friends I don't feel so disconnected.

2.) I'm thankful for my pets! Animals give so much love and affection. No matter what kind of mood i'm in, my dog and cat are always there to snuggle and make me get my butt off the couch!

3.) I am thankful for my job. Although I don't love it every day, I cannot imagine the feeling of not knowing how you're going to support yourself from day to day. There are so many people struggling to make ends meet right now. The fact that I do not have to worry where my next meal is going to come from or that I will be able to sleep in a warm bed at night is a blessing.

Beth, I said the same thing about making friends in CO! What's up with that??? I do think it's difficult when you're no longer in school to randomly meet people you connect with...no matter where you live. BUT Colorado is supposed to be a great place for people our ages!

    1. I am thankful I have a good job. They are extremely hard to find in the economy around these parts.

    2. I am thankful for my BF for paying the majority of bills since January. As of last Wednesday I am debt free! (minus my car payment) After 3 years of struggling with it and 9 hard months of strict payments it feels amazing!

    3. I am grateful all that I lost in the storms this weekend was power. So many people have been more greatly affected in MIssouri and it is so sad.

    1. I'm desperately thankful for all you ladies right now. Your support the past few weeks has gotten me through a lot of shiit that I haven't been able to talk to ex-FI or my parents about.

    2. I'm thankful for my puppies. Without which I wouldn't have slept at all last night. They are good snugglers. <3

    3. I'm thankful for my mom. Who went from BF-hating to supporting our decision to get engaged, and who held me last night while I cried. And who told me that when she and dad were engaged, dad walked out on her. And then she got pregnant with me during make up sex and told dad she wouldn't marry him because she was pregnant. He could have visitation, but she wasn't marrying him. They got married in June. I was born in December.

    2. I'm thankful for my mom for paying for medical stuff since I'm on her insurrance still. She's awesome.

    3. I'm thankful that the tornado that hit in my city did not seriously hurt anyone I knew. And I'm thankful FI's uncle is okay, even though his house is destroyed.

Thanks cde, this is a great little exercise...

    1) I'm thankful for my sister. She is smart, funny, and has given me the most adorable niece in the world, with another little baby on the way. She's brought so much joy into my life and is always the one I can lean on (besides SO, of course) when times are tough.

    2) I'm thankful for the wonderful example that my parents set for us. They just celebrated their 39th anniversary, and whenever I start wondering if relationships can really last, I just think about them. They had their difficult times, but they fought for each other and now are enjoying retirement and their grandbabies together.

    3) I'm thankful for you ladies. I honestly don't know what I would do if I didn't have your words of wisdom banging around my head. This is a place where I feel like I can say what I'm really thinking without being judged, and also to get an unbiased opinion. You were a god-send at a time I really needed it.

I am thankful for my bestfriend, we have known each other for 19 years and she has been there to support me every step of the way. Even when I dragged her out to muddy tidal flats looking for oysters for my graduate project.

I am thankful for my family who pushed me and guided me along. Making me face my responsibilities and providing me with ample chances to succeed.

I am thankful for my grandma who practically raised me is still energetically active and spry to come to my master's graduation ceremony. I am so excited for her to come to the wedding next year.

    1) I am grateful for my family. They are incredible, and I am so close to them, and I can honestly say that my mom and sister are my best friends. They have helped me tremendously with my issues with BF lately, with very fair viewpoints.
    2) I am grateful for having a good job, nice apartment, steady income and can mostly afford the things I want and all the things I need. That should never be taken for granted.

    3) I am grateful that I lost a dress size :) I went to try on a BM dress with my friend for her wedding, and I am down a size since the last time I tried the dress on. It has taken a lot of work to get to the point where I am starting to see results, but the weight is starting to come off faster now and I am feeling much better about myself :)

Nice thread! Mine are pretty simple, things I'm thankful for rightthisminute.

    1. My MOH. We haven't known each other very long (only 2 years) but we connect on so many levels, and I would be lost without her :) She comes back from her honeymoon today - yay!

    2. Summer approaching - finally! It is festival season now!

    3. Dinner tonight with a friend.

1- I am thankful for my precious puppy. My dad and I have raised her to be a little lady ( for the most part) and she is so behaved. I'm so glad that my dog isn't the idiot yapper in Petsmart anymore. I finally have the dog with the " wtf is his problem?" lOok on her face as we stroll around. 2- I'm thankful for such an awesome job. I'm truly blessed to have an awesome boss who is more concerned with me doing well in my classes than me being at work every single day of the week. My next boss should be "ok" with this but I'm truly going to miss this boss when he retires in July. 3- I'm thankful for you ladies. I've always known that this has been an awesome place to chat but it wasn't until recently that I realized how close we are and that we are truly there for eachother no matter what. I'm so glad I have you ladies to talk to and shoot the shiit with all day. I lurve you beetches!

1 - I'm thankful for my family. I have supportive parents, two beautiful, funny, smart daughters and a wonderful soon to be in-law family, all of whom bring great joy to my life.

2 - I'm thankful for my job, and the flexibility it allows, affording me the opportunity to return to school while continuing to work. Add to that the ability to office from home, who could resist working in their jammies!

3 - I'm thankful for my faith in God. I have had a lot of heartache in the past, and between God and my church family, I've pulled through, landing in a better place than I started out in.

Bonus - I'm thankful for this board. While I don't post often, I've enjoyed getting to know you guys while lurking. I appreciate Dessert's thoughtful responses, peak's perseverance, lunar's wonderful way of finding fun topics that get everyone to interact, and so many other's. You ladies are wonderful and probably help so many that you never know because they are lurking (even more than me!)

Hope you all have a wonderful day.

    1. My best friend and college roommate, Katie. She wanted to come visit me this summer since FI is gone to keep me busy and for a long overdue girls weekend, but she couldn't take the time off worm to fly from LA to Miami. So what does she do? Pay for me to fly my unemployed butt out to LA! I'm going next weekend!!!! Even though we haven't seen each other in almost 2 years, she was still the first person I called after my family when we got engaged, and I cannot wait for girly all night chat sessions over a pitcher of sangria like we used to do in college! 2. My brother. He's hilarious and awesome and I'm truly lucky to have him as a friend. He'll make an awesome brother-of-honor and has apparently already started planning to roast my eyebrows off with his toast at the wedding. I'm dreading it in the best possible way!!! Like "This is going to be embarrassing, but hilarious and not too inappropriate." 3. My Mom. She's pretty fantastic and I cannot wait until she comes down in 2 weeks to go dress hunting! She's always supportive and helpful, never holds a grudge, a fantastic listener and very funny. She also gives awesome hugs :-)

This is hard for me today because wow have the last couple been awful. So in an effort to be a little more positive I am participating because I need to cheer up!
    1. I am thankful that getting back into school after transferring has be relatively easy, I'm still on track to graduate when I am supposed to and I am even starting to meet people and really make friends.
    2. I am thankful that there is at least one other sane girl at work, without her I think I would just walk out some days (this one really made me smile)

o dear, i think i sort of failed at this exercise : /

    1. I'm thankful for my friends (and FI) for being the level-headed, directioned people in my life that I can vent to when my family is being the opposite. LOL

    2. After reading posts on TK about awful, horrendous IL's, I'm thankful that I will have great IL's. They're awesome.

    3. I'm thankful for my kitty because she provides hours of entertainment and then loves to cuddle at bedtime. She is our spoiled furbaby :)

    1. I'm thankful for my stepad. He's the dad I've always wanted, giving, funny, warm, and he takes me out for father-daughter lunches sometimes, and he makes my mom really happy. (Though sometimes he drives her insane too).

    2. I'm thankful to have a job that pays my tuition at school! And better yet, I love the people I work with.

    3. Right this moment, I'm thankful that my boyfriend's family in Joplin is safe.

    1. I'm thankful that I feel that my bf's family is my own. I feel super comfortable around them, talk to them about everything i'd tell my own family, and they treat me as one of them.

    2. I'm thankful that our pizza shop is becoming well known around the neighborhood. We were recently in the newspaper, and we have so many people call/come in and tell us that they've heard so many good things about us.

    3. I'm sooooo thankful that vacation is almost here because we need a break! We have been working 60 plus hours (luckily I have lots of down time at work to go on TK!) and don't get to go out pretty much ever.

    1. I am thankful for my family. They are so incredibly supportive. I know many parents who would be hesitant on seeing their daughter move away to be closer to her SO's family! However- they really want me to spread my wings and fly. My mother also encourages to me to "bloom where I'm planted," which is a great outlook to have in life.

    2. I am thankful for the awesome communities of fabulous women I have in my life. My meetup group ended up being more amazing then I could have ever imagined. We have 659 members and have met over 210 times! They wiped away my tears when I crawled out of my failed relationship- and then they rejoiced when I met Andrew.

This is the new image I'm going to use for my new meetup group in Colorado!
What do you think? Will it attract Laid Back Lively Ladies?

Another awesome community of women that I have are you gals. What a find! I feel SO blessed- especially with this big move- I may be moving away from lots of friends in California- but I know when I get to Colorado- you'll still be right here. And Allusive and Beth will be in Colorado with me! What a joy knowing that I won't be completely alone.

I can only pick 3? That's not fair! Ok...

    1. My job. After being unemployed for 5-ish months (!!!), it's so nice to have a steady income again. I can't believe how much money I have! It's also great that I don't dread going to work everyday. In fact, I genuinely enjoy it. Though it does suck that my job doesn't really allow me to play on TK most of the time.

    2. My trip to Chicago coming up in a few weeks. I'm so looking forward to the time with my mom, my brother and his GF (possibly FI after this trip!), and potentially meeting Schiano in person!

    3. All 3 of my silly, adorable furbabies. My life wouldn't be complete without them.
