  I just want to make sure Im understanding this...the Jack&Jill party and Bridal shower are 2 seperate paries correct?
  
  If so this is what Im thinking, if youre making the cupcakes for the Bridal Shower, I dont think its fully necessary for you to bring a gift. however if you could afford something small that might be nice. My mom spent a boat load of time and money on food and setting up/taking down/etc and then bought me one the most expensive things on my registry. I felt really bad b/c she also didnt have a ton of money to be spending. So I wouldnt go full out gift, but maybe something smaller.
  
  As far as the J&J party...its a bach party, you dont bring gifts. Thats what a bridal shower is for. The whole point of a bach party is to spend time with friends before your big day and "settling down" not that it truely changes anything, but you get the idea. So no I wouldt and have never brought a gift to a bach party.

  Agree with Bridgett about the cupcakes being enough.  But if you want to get something, an additional small gift would do the trick.
  
  For some BP parties, I know girls give lingerie and/or funny, sexy items (lickable lotion, etc).  Not sure if that would be the case with a Jack and Jill.  I would ask some of the other bridal party and see what they're doing...

  Thanks ladies...yes, they are two separate events....same day.  I appreciate your input....I'll definitely get her something then for the shower portion at least!

  I sort of agree w/ the 2 above...
  
  For the shower- are you the only one contributing food or are all of the BMs bringing a dish?  If everyone is bringing a dish, then I think you should still bring a gift... it just seems like a cop-out to use your dish as a gift.  (Not that a gift should ever be expected for any occasion... but I, personally, do not like to count food as a gift... even though I LOVE food... and would LOVE food gifts...)... sorry to be confusing.  If no one is bringing food and you are a super fabulous cupcake maker.. then it might pass (similar to a friend who owns a bakery offering to do a wedding cake as a gift)... make any sense?
  
  **I just re-read the OP and (I'm a moron), from the sounds of it... you ARE a super fabulous baker (good enough to be doing the weddign cake)... so... umm... Hi... I'm Monica.  I love cake.  ... I was originally picturing one of my Betty Crocker rejects on a platter as a gift for someone... ick... not so classy... but real, legit cupcakes... yup... pretty awesome.
  
  Seriously though... I would probably bring a small gift or at least a card in addition to the cupcakes... but that's just me.  You are in the clear for the wedding, though... in my book... if that means anything.  B/c wedding cakes are ridiculously expensive and that would be a super fabulous gift!!!
  
  As for the B-party.... ... definitely no gifts... those get to be exensive enough as it is... and it's definitely not the norm to bring a gift.

  Monica-Thanks! You're hilarious! Yeah, I'm the only one bringing food to the Bridal Shower.  But thanks to everyone's advice I went to Bed Bath & Beyond and picked out a pretty awesome gift as well.
