Flower Power!

Hi All,

I am just curious... does the bride usually have the same type of flower as your bridesmaids? I am doing a black and white wedding with a turqouise accent and found some beautiful black and white flowers for myself but was wanting to possibly do blue flowers for my bridesmaids.

Thanks,
Stefanie

Re: Flower Power!

  • I've seen both ways.  I personally like the flowers to be different.  What you described sounds great!
  • You can do it both ways.

My colors are yellow, charcoal gray and navy. My BMs are carrying mostly yellow flowers with a few gray pops. Mine is mostly yellow but has white instead of the gray.

  • I am carrying blue hydrangeas with white lilies and white roses, and my bridesmaids are carrying smaller bouquets of blue hydrangeas with white roses (no lilies). I wanted mine to match, but some of the prettiest wedding flowers I've ever seen didn't coordinate at all.  It's totally up to you!

  • In the weddings I have been to the bride has carried a much larger mostly white bouquet and the bridesmaids have carried smaller flowers that incorporated the wedding colour (for example when I was in a fall wedding my flowers were orange and the bride had a large white bouquet with different flowers, at a summer wedding I went to the bride had a large white bouquet and the bridesmaids had tighter red rose bouquets.) It is completely your choice if you would like to match or not. Choose what you feel is prettiest.
