50 shades of grey...please spoil the sequels for me.

Just finished the first book. Didn't really care for it but do want to know what happened to Christian to make him a masochist. Anyone care to spoil it for me? Does she ever meet mrs. Robinson?

  • She sure does!

I just started the 3rd book last night so I dont know all of the details yet.. Basically however he was badly abused as a young child so that is part of it among other things.
  • Ahhh...ok. I figured that much about the abuse. But how could he remember that much of it if it happened before he was 5? You don't have to answer, just wondering. Thanks!

The story line is interesting but the author's writing ability SUCKS!!! I was so annoyed with Ana's inner goddess. And if she said..,"I bit my lip", "crocked his head to the side", "Holy Crap" one more time I was going to scream. Anywho, I only got through to the middle of the third book and I couldn't take it anymore.

Book two - 50 Shapes Darker, Grey and Ana get back together because she can't live without him and he decides being with her is more important than his Dominant fetish. He realizes he can't lose her again. He asks her to marry him and she says yes.

Book three - 50 Shapes Freed. They are married, a whole lot of nothing happens and I give up on this book.

Maybe someone finished the ending and can tell us what happens because I just could not read anymore. Hopefully they make a movie because I like the story just can't stand how this author wrote the book.

You find out that his mother's pimp would burn him with cigarette butts and this is why he can't stand to be touched. And you also find out that all his Submissive look just like his mother.

I guess because the experience was so terrible he remembers because he has bad dreams at night about it.

  • At the end she gets pregnant, and the very end they have a son and she's pregnant with their 2nd child. I like romance novels, but yeah this author couldn't write for crap.

  • I could totally picture a movie.  And I'd probably watch it as long as it wasn't a trilogy and they summed it up in 2.5 hrs.  I'm sure if you take out the words inner goddess, subconscious, biting my lip, stop biting your lip, white linen shirt, tousled hair, Audi (we get it he has several audis) cockk his head and twitchy palm (among other words) the book would probably be about 25 pages long.

Thank god my friend had this on her kindle so I didn't have to pay for it.  But I was curious after hearing everyone talk about it.

Thank you everyone for filling me in!

  • OMG! I'm so pleased to see others asking what happens in the two sequels...  so they don't have to read them, but hope  that maybe something decent comes out of this trash.

I'm a VERY liberated gynecologist, and am open to virtually all writing, but  I had to read #1 in small bites, largely because of the poor authorship (already described), and  because of the really sick, disturbing,  and sickening, sweet, repetitive, and wearisomne drivel..I just couldn't take any more, but always wrongly tend to feel I need to finish a book.

No more sequels, no movies, please!!And EJ,, take some writing classes, on your way to the bank.
