  Im pretty hit or miss when it comes to my luck on the other boards.  Sometimes the convo becomes an entirely new animal haha sometimes girls are great, sometimes you get nothing.  I honestly think it has to do with how relatable and interesting your dilemma is.

  In planning my first wedding (September 2008) I had the most luck on my month board. Bouncing all of our ideas off each other really helped to fuel the creativity. In fact, the ladies on that board developed an extremely close bond -- our anniversary board is still pretty active on TN, we have a private FB page, we have a daily email thread in which we "chat" all day since most of us have desk jobs, and several of us have met at GTG's.

  I'm hoping the same thing happens for June 2013

  I've noticed that too. One of the few things that I asked up there, which was about my BP they practically jumped down my throat saying that I shouldn't have even asked anyone yet.

  Only June 2013 brides get June 2013 brides! - I have found that the more "niche" boards offer the most help, for me it has been this board and the jewish wedding boards, I feel like for some of the other boards, it's the same people posting over and over, and it feels clicque-y whereas here, everyone is super nice and helpful

  I agree with you all. Some of the other boards can be pretty brutal. Sometimes it seems like there is no room for a variety of different opinions. The atmosphere on this board is different though IMO. I like posting here! I hope that we can all get to know each other better over the course of the next year and four months.

  The 2 boards I really like and post on often are this board and my local board. I feel like that is where I get the most helpful advice, I agree sometimes the other boards are hit or miss.

  I totally agree. The only questions I usually ask on my local board, are ones pertaining to local vendors. lol. Most of the Brides on my local board are Fall brides, so their wedding style is a lot different. I dont get much feed back from them regarding decorating tips or color ideas.

  I had posted on this board about how we couldn't afford to rent a tent for the reception and so what would be another way to kinda define that area. Well I posted that another board as well, hoping to get more feedback. They kept saying I needed to rent a tent...after I said multiple times that we could not afford a tent in any way. Then it was like I was a mean person for not renting a tent and expecting my guests to sit in the rain or hot sun. Which was not the case at all. I just found it extremely unhelpful and basically had me upset for a total of 10 minutes lol. It's like as soon as one person jumps down your throat, they all form a herd and everyone begins jumping down your throat. But you can't really try to explain yourself because then they attack you even more and its just a mess.
  The only boards that really help me is this board and the Christian wedding board.

  I typically post to this board or my local board, which is awesome. I've gotten really good information from this board and everyone is very cool. I don't bother with any of the other boards.

  Futuremrswoods, I'm guessing you posted on one of those and that's when they jumped on you. In their defense, we answer the "Can I kick a BM out of my wedding party for X reason?" about five times every day (which gets old real quick). A lot of this type of drama could have been avoided for those brides if they had just waited, as relationships change. They do that to everyone, so I hope you don't take it personally. If they feel like someone is going to do something rude, they don't sugar coat their answers.
  
  Anyway, the general rule is to wait until you're about 9 months away. That being said, I got engaged in July, 2011 and I already asked all of my BMs. :) I know you're not supposed to so early, but I can't think of any reason I wouldn't want any of them to stand up with me, even if we do drift a little between now and then.
