Is so far the least fun thing I've found about the wedding planning process.
Despite having two different types of invitations (One for spanish, one for english), and two different countries (Mexico/US) with two differnent rates for stamps....and forgetting the fact that I scewed up and capitlized the day and month on my spanish invites...I kind of feel annoying as fuuu having to ask FSIL who is who in their family bc FI has no freakin' clue.
My sweet little Excel sheet has helped me out alot, but when it comes down to writing the invitations out, I get stumped. Too many rules.

Can't wait to get the dam things out!

I brought an invite to the post office and they said it would cost $1.08 to mail each one. I knew I shouldn't have gone with the square ones!
Anyway, she told me to go online to their website and that I could buy $1.08 stamps there. Except I cannot find any except 'special made' ones with photos I give them and frankly I couldn't care less about having special stamps with our picture or some such crap. I just want something like a flower. Hell, I'd even do the Liberty Bell ones at this point!
Are the special order ones my only choice? I was pissed because they cost $1.64 apiece, adding about $50 to the postage budget.

Yea- I also got square ones, too. For me and in my circle of fam/friends, it isn't crazy uncommon to just hand them out :) My aunt in Harlingen, for instance, told me I can just send her and all my cousin's invites to her house and she'll hand them out. All my OOT aunts/uncles have told me the same. It was the same for their kids when they got married too. The ones that live here in Houston I also plan to hand most of them out.
What ends up happening, is I only wind up paying for the (.44) forever stamp for the RSVP cards, and a few packages. There are some, though, that I'll send out traditionally in the mail- but not not many. Just a suggestion. :)

[QUOTE]I'm about to start this nightmare myself. I have almost 80 to do and the list my FMIL gave me is terrible. Things like Ms. X and Daughter. or Ms. X & Sons. Really?! You can't give me proper names. I was going to put & Family but apparently that got shot down. And I have names with no last names. Ridiculous

Yea, I had a few strange situations. Especially with customs in Mexico. Like, I still don't know this one....FI had an aunt that is his dad's sister (so she has FI's last name as her maiden), but she got married and took another last name in addition to hers. Then her husband passed away...Soooo- is it ---(maiden) oor ---(husband's last). Even the smallest screw up can be disrespectful. AND FI DIDN'T KNOW EITHER! Lol, we asked FI's dad, and he goes, Just put 'Tia ---'. I'm like...no.
I totally put '& family' to the Mexico invites. We are all pretty sure they aren't going to come but if they did we would be thrilled...We obviously would want them to travel with their families if they were to come. LOL...yep. Hate addressing.

On a side note - just finished printing the addresses that I have which took ~ 2 hours. I'm so happy that my new last name is easy and not like the rest of the family (crazy Silician last names) there were so many Giovannis and Salvatores, etc its hilarious
