Hi ladies!!!!
I posted on this board way back when, and started posting on Aug 2012 because the moderator (SeaTea) and I weren't the best of buds. It seems she's not around anymore, so I figured I'd try out my 'natural board'!
My FI and I are getting married September 1st in Connecticut at a gorgeous old mansion on the water. He's 29, I'm 26. We've been together 3.5 years now.
He's a law student about to graduate and take the bar exam, as well as a 1st Lt in the USMC. When he's done with the bar exam, he'll be a JAG Officer (basically a lawyer for the Marines).
I'm a recruitment consultant, but I'm leaving that job in 6 weeks and am very excited about it! We'll be moving in 6 weeks, and then every 3-6 months for the next 2 years. Yep, between now and our 2 year anniversary, we will have moved 6 times!
So no real opportunity to get full time employment, we're using the chance for me to explore what I'd really love to do - graphic design and writing. I'm going back to school (military spouses get in-state tuition where their spouse is stationed, and the military reimburses up to $5500 annually towards a degree program) to study graphic design while building up my business. Meanwhile, I'm going to finish a novel I started about two years ago and haven't had time to focus on and try to get it published! I am SO excited to start this next chapter (heh... no pun intended) of my life!
We've got most things done for the wedding - venue, photographer, videographer, florist, DJ, caterer, tent/chair rental, linens, dress, shoes, hair/makeup artists, save the dates (already sent), invitations (ready to be assembled), JOP, bagpiper/drummer, favors.... really all that's left is last minute meetings with vendors and assembling/mailing the invitations! No stress for this bride, it's been a very easy process. My family is amazing, and my fiance is really supportive if not very interested in the details!
That's about it... any questions?
