Bachelorette Party for Two Brides

Two of my long time friends are getting married in two weeks. They just recently asked me to be the Matron of Honor. I am short in not only time, but also extremely short on money.

I had the idea of Friday night doing sort of a combo Bridal Shower/Bachelorette Party (Mostly a bachelorette party but where I will bring a bridal shower-esque gift) for the both of them together, since there are two brides.

We have a local gay friendly club, so I was thinking we could all head there, party, I would buy their drinks for the night (Though neither are big drinkers)... I invited their whole wedding party (guys & girls).

Was this a good idea?

And mostly... what else can I do to elevate the fun levels a bit or other good ideas? Also too apparently this club isn't exactly 'hopping' on a Friday night, and they aren't available Saturday because they will be at the Boston Pride Parade.

What did you guys do or are doing or have heard of doing for bachelorette/bachelor parties when there are two brides/grooms?

Thanks for your insight!

I think it sounds like a great idea! You don't necessarily have to have a lot of money to have a good time. What if you had dinner at your place before hand? Ask the other bridesmaids to help you with dinner or have everyone bring something to share. Do you have a party store in your town? Otherwise the porn shop (I know sounds funny) has gag gifts. You can make them a boob cake :) I think they also have boob straws & fun stuff for them to wear! It's a bachelorette party it should be tacky lol!  Going out for drinks after is a good idea too. Also something fun you can do is create a scavenger hunt. Maybe each bride has to see who can complete the list first. It can be silly like get another woman's bra, I have had to do this before & it is hilarious! Relax, they will have a great time just knowing you put forth the effort & time to make sure they had a good time! Keep me updated I want to know how it turns out!

You have a lot of freedom on this one.  The standard bachelor(ette) party theme of "last night of freedom" is even sillierfor gay couples than it is for straight couples, because the partner is at the same party.  We had one bachelorette party that was dinner and arcade games, and another one that was at a traditiional Korean bathhouse.  Both were a lot of fun.

We had separate bachlorette parties with our separate bridal parties and friends, we to dinner and out for drinks. I landed at a gay club at the end of the night, but it was all men and us ladies. J was just hanging at regular bars. Both parties were held on the same night on in NYC (mine) the other in Hoboken, NJ (J's) and were the night of our joint bridal shower thrown for us by all the ladies at my parents' house. It was a fantastic day and night!

Thank you for your responses, we ended up having a great night. We did go to the gay friendly club where they were having a drag show, and one of the drag queens took the ladies up on stage and announced their wedding. Everyone SCREAMED their heads off for them. Then I got them each a white t shirt, one said 'Bachelorette Becky' and one said 'Bachelorette Lauren' and one the back I wrote 'Signatures? Wedding Advice? Bra Size??' and we set the clock for 30 minutes & whoever got the most people to write on their shirts won a pink tiara I brought. Lauren got 31 and Becky won with 47. She got all the bartenders & drag queens to sign. And so many people just in the club were super excited to sign. I also brought a few bags of ring pops that everyone liked. So after the club closed for the night, we went to Denny's to unwind. My brides-to-be said they had a great night and couldn't stop talking about it even at the wedding.

And btw their wedding was LOVELY! This past Saturday :)
