Snarky Brides

2 Questions

One of these is wedding related and one isn't.

1.  I've been trying to think of what to get my attendants and I found out Jim Gaffigan is going to be here.  Perfect!  Gift for my brother = solved!  But, he will be here late November and the wedding is in January.  So that would mean my brother would be getting his gift way early (pretty much within the next few weeks so he doesn't end up with conflicting things in his schedule or buying the tickets himself).  Is that weird?

2.  Does anybody have a Droid (any of the models)?  Are they good phones?  Scott's phone is dying and I never buy myself anything nice so we were both looking into them.  I like the look of the Droid Incredible more but supposedly the Droid 2 has longer battery life, which is kind of important for those quick-drain fancy phones.  Thoughts?

Re: 2 Questions

  • 1.  I think Jim Gaffigan tickets are an amazing idea but my H and I are huge fans so I am kind of biased.  I don't look at it as weird especially because it is a family memeber and not just a friend.  Would you just be purchasing tickets for him or would you both be going with him?

    2.  I don't have a droid but I did have a Palm and I loved it.  The Palm Pre is one of my favorite phones.  A close second is a Motorola something or other the Army gave my husband to try out.  I really like it but unfortunately it's only under Sprint.
  • I would give him 2 tickets, assuming he would bring his girlfriend.  If it gets closer and I decide I really want to go we might get cheaper, farther back tickets for us.  :)  I just wasn't sure if it was weird giving him his present early?  I think I'm over thinking this.

The Palm Pre was actually one of the ones I was interested in, but then I realized it's not on the Android OS which I really want for all the google stuff.  It's totally cute though.  The other one I liked that isn't Android is the enV Touch.  I had the original enV and I mourn the loss of it to this day.
  • I think the tickets would be a good idea as long as he understands that it is his groomsman gift.  I personally would love something like that over a flask with initials on it.
  • Yeah, if I never get a tote bag with my initials on it I will be a happy girl.  Plus, he is standing on my side anyway so I don't think the traditional gifts really apply.  ;)
  • Then I would definitely get the tickets for him.  It is more personal and a lot more sentimental than the usual bullshiit BM/GM gifts given.
  • All I want to say is that I love Jim Gaffigan and FI and I had tickets to see him in Long Island. The day of the show, we get the worst storm ever.  Trees are down everywhere, the power is out, it's flooding, etc.  We're driving out there and we get a flat tire.  We never made it :(.  We've been so sad since then.
  • Gaffigan tickets are a great idea. I love that guy! Hoooooot Pockeeeeetssss...

I don't know much about the droid but I've heard good things about them. Although, I'm very biased because I'm a BlackBerry user who thinks that BlackBerry's are just the best thing in the whole wide world.

  • I have the Droid 2. J bought the Samsung Fascinate when I got my Droid and he brought the Samsung back yesterday and got the Droid 2. I love love my phone. I charge it at night and it's yet to tell me I have "low battery". That's with me randomly browsing/Facebooking, playing WordFued and texting during the day. I've only had it for about 2 weeks but if you have any specific questions, let me know.

  • I like my Droid Incredible. It took me a while to get used to because I always had a basic flip phone, but it is great now. Also, I find Verizon's service to be superior to other phone companies.

Good choice! That's a great gift, and nbd that it'll be before the wedding.
  • I don't have a Droid BUT I just bought the Samsung Vibrant which is an Android phone. If you're sticking with Verizon it's called the Fascinate, I think. I really like it! And it's super great having all the apps available through Android market.

That sucks!  I'm pretty sure he has a few shows in NY around early December.
  • I have the Droid X through Verizon and I love it.  Its really fast and battery life is good.  I love all the free apps.
