April 2013 Weddings

Poll-Help me pick please!

Ok I have been debating on what color my bouquet would be for months.
Well wedding day is approaching-42 days!

I cant decide if I want Fuschia or White? Or white with a few fuschia in there. Regardless of color they will be all roses.

Re: Poll-Help me pick please!

  • What color are your bridesmaids wearing?
  • My bridesmaids are wearing black dresses and their bouquets will definitely all be fuschia. I just dont know if I want to match them or be different.
  • I like the all white bouquet

  • What about a majority fuschia and then a few white roses thrown in? That way yours will be different from your BMs but still be a mojority fuschia.
  • I voted for fuschia because I think the contrast with your dress would be lovely, but if you want to stand out even more from your bridesmaids, white would be lovely too! I'd go with one or the other, though, instead of mixing the colours. Just my opinion. :)

I think your bouquet should be different than your bridesmaid's. Fuschia would look great with their dresses, so you should stick to white. Have them wrap the stems in fuschia ribbon to help bring the color in.

I made the mistake when I was making our bouquets of using colors too similar to mine in the BM's bouquets, and I had to redo them. It made mine look more special to change theirs a little--I made theirs more purple with some green and white, while mine is mostly white and green with some purple.

ETA: Since you're going with all roses, I'd stick to just one color.
  • I chose the mix because that's what I'm doing, haha.  My girls will have all-white hydrangea bouquets and mine will be blue hydrangeas and some white roses mixed in with little crystals.  I didn't like the idea of the white blending in too closely to my dress but I wanted my bouquet to look more "bridal" and a little snazzier than just the blue hydrangeas.

Good luck!  I'm sure whatever you pick, it will look lovely :-)
  • I really like the contrast of color with a white dress, so I'd go fuschia. Just ask your florist to make yours bigger and more out there looking than your girls.

However, I also agree with others that if it's just roses, I'd stick with one color - either the white or the fuschia.
  • I voted all white because I believe the bride's bouquet should be a little different from the BM's. I agree with von and say all white bouquet wrapped with fuschia ribbon. That way you get a little bit of color too.

This!!  your bouquet will most likely be bigger than your BM's anyway but you do want to have something a bit different.  I've known brides who have done a single color bouquet and added a different color flower for each person in Heaven who couldn't be there.  It was a nod to their memory without putting the sadness in everyone's face for the whole day.

I don't personally care for all white bouquets against a white dress. You can't really see the beauty of the flowers because everything blends together.

I also REALLY love roses where the tips of the petals have been dyed a different color.  Can your florist do white roses with fuschia tips on the petals?  I think that would be really pretty.

  • Go with fuschia with a little bit of white to make yours different, but definitely have color and not plain white!

I am doing the same thing, my BMs are in black dresses with hot pink flowers and hot pink heels.  I decided to do hot pink and medium pink roses and gerbera daisies for my bouquet bc I didn't like the way white and hot pink looked together.  Plus my dress is ivory so I would have needed to find ivory/cream flowers and that just seemed like too much work.
