I know nothing about the marrige license Etc.  I live in Arizona, I am guessing I need to get the License in the county that I am getting married would I get that at the Cottage Grove City Hall?  How far ahead of time do I need to be there to get it?  I was only planning on coming into town 2 days before the wedding.

    We had a minimum 5 day waiting period from when we applied for our license to when we were able to pick it up. I'm not sure if you have to get the license in that county or if it transfers throughout the state. I'd call the county office and ask them.

    Things could have changed since my 09 wedding but when we applied, you didn't need to get it from the county you were married in.  We were married in Ramsey County but our license came from Washington County.  The certificate comes from the state.

    You can apply for a marriage license in any county and use it anywhere in MN.  You can get the marriage license up to six months before the ceremony date.  I would call specifically about getting it two days ahead of time.

    I am planning on being back in Minnesota late March, does anyone know if I can go in and apply for it without my fiance?

    I think you can if his signature is notarized, I'd look into it :-)
