I've been lurking and commenting here and there so I thought I'd formally introduce myself.
I'm Kim (If you couldn't tell by my SN) 
Wedding is June 17th 12 
Colors are pink and green with copper accents
Not sure on a theme... Kinda vintage? I guess. 
I love reading about everyone's weddings and can't wait to  get to know you all!

    Ooh, a fall wedding. That was my second choice because I love the fall but our dating anniversary is in June and so we thought we'd have the wedding the same month. Also, June 17th was his grandparent's anniversary and he was very close with them so we decided to make that our date as well.

    I always miss the good stuff on SB and others, usually due to time difference I think, so I thought this was a good place to start the non-lurking. :)

    Welcome and congratulations!
    How's the wedding planning coming? What are the main things you're working on right now? Picked vendors yet? :}

    We did the same thing! H ( <-- yay!) wanted a spring or fall wedding... but he picked sept. 25th because it's the date that we first met. <3:)

    That's funny that so many people seem to be basing wedding dates on dating annis. That's why we're getting married in Dec. It will be our 8 year anni 2 days after our wedding date. :)

    Thank you! So far I've bought my dress, we have a venue and catering is included there. Our friend is our officiant, we have a photographer. FMIL and I are working on some DIY's but trying to pace ourselves. :)<div>

    Thank you very much. :) I would be on a marriage high if H weren't gone.. lol.

    We had a friend be our officiant as well! She just graduated to be a minister so it was great timing, and she has been H's BFF (minus me of course ;) ) for years.
    she was incredible. :) And used her Ipad for the ceremony... too cool :) Especially because it was white and our wedding had a LOT of white so keep things looking clean  and crisp:

     (idk if you can see it... but H hates mac/apple so he was really mad when he saw that you can see the apple in these pictures! hahaha)

    What's your DIY list look like? Do it while you have the energy and WANT to! Because you will hit a point where you won't want to do ANYTHING.. That was me for like.. 3 months before the wedding so I was thankful I did so much early on. :)

    We chose September.... b/c I have no idea I wanted a Sapphire and justified it with planning a September wedding ;) 

    No we just love labor day weekend so we just decided on September 1. 

    1 second wanting to know what DIYs you are doing. You can always start posting on SB and E. Sometimes the girls are a little harsh on new people but that is only when they post something ridiculous. I like them a lot they are really nice-

    hah .. There's a chick I don't like that's a frequenter on E or I would post more.. Big fan of the SB though.. I would lurk less and post more there, but by the time I get to read the posts they are like.. 40 posts long so I feel behind the times :P

    Sparent- Your colors are sappire and what else? I know I should know this.. sorry... Let me know if you need anything that I may have! :)

    I'm working on some candy bowls for our candy bar right now. We're taking (cheep) crystal bowls and painting the carved part in our colors then painting the outside with a copper color...This: 
    Also we're thinking about signs for the reception area.

    SB kinda scares me, I find most of them hillarious and they usually have good points but I'm scared to post yet!

    I love your DIY project :) We did something like that.. We made cake stands:






    Easiet thing ever, looked super cute,and were 3 bucks a piece! I think I would have done more DIY had I had more time and discovered TK earlier :o) You will love how you get to see all your DIY stuff come together in the end :)

    Those are cute! Yeah, ours are like 3-5 bucks too but FMIL just texted me a picture of one of the plates we have at an antique store for $39! Almost makes me feel bad for painting them!

    FI and I chose 7/7/12 because our anniversary is 9/9 and because our first date was 7/6 lol. I just finished my first DIY (I will post pics later)! I did feather bouts and I am so happy with them!

    I definatly agree it's fun now to do DIY but it will get old fast which is why I am glad I still have 9 months.

    Excited to have you out of the shadows and adding to the activity of this board. I think its way better to be talking to people local to you, it makes you feel closer to some of these girls.

    FTL, let me know when you get ready to sell anything that sparent doesn't want because I've liked a lot of your ideas and our styles our kind of similar!

    Just let me know what you're interested in and I will sell or let borrow. :o) Some thing I will probably just give up, like the cake stands. I love them so much, but have no room in my house! hahaha :) Or maybe I should repaint them Christmas colors.. o0o0o0o....
    Some things I am letting people borrow but not sell because they are my aunts buys (like our apothecary jars for example... She bought those so I am just letting a coupel brides use them and give them back.)
    Looking forward to the DIY pics! loooove DIY :) We need a whole DIY thread of all the stuff everyone has done so far!

    We are doing shades of blue and purple b/c I can't make up my mind. :o 

    FTL you should just post on E or SB it takes awhile to let the others kinda warm up etc but they are all pretty cool. Some of them I am like meh but most of them I really like.

    Eh, yeah but one chick on E I have to put up with on another board so I'm just like.. bleh. I don't like you.

    I like SB a lot but seriously.. I get to them so so late that I'm way behind in the posts.. But so far I really like all the SB ladies. I am pretty all over the place with my posts. I like AA, Budget, Ceremony, DIY, Shape, Just Engaged, Beauty, WP, Military, and wedding month.
    haha.. this is what happens when H leaves me alone for a few weeks. :P
