Seacoast Wedding/ reception site

My fiance and I are planning a June 2012 wedding and would love a seaside wedding/reception with about 100 guests.  We have been looking at venues that our guest will be able to stay at.  Some of the places we have found are well beyond our budget.  Any advice would be a huge help!!

What is your budget?  Where have you looked already so that we don't suggest places that you have already eliminated?

Do you care where on the coast (Southern Maine, Down East, Midcoast, etc.)?

Do you want to have the ceremony and reception at the same place?

    Indoor?  Outdoor?

Did you check out the Samoset Resort in Rockport?  The wedding coordinator is excellent to work with and can probably help you fit something into your budget. Good luck!

We wanted an outside ceremony on the coast - preferably in the same place as the reception.  we are fairly open to the southern coast and mid coast -- the far north gets to be a bit far.  we have looked at the stage neck -- they do 2 weddings a day (4-5 a weekend) but was beautiful.  we also looked at the Dockside, the Colony, the York Harbor inn, Ocean Cliff, wentworth by the Sea.  Our budget for the reception/ceremony is $15,000.  We also looked at some in Kennebunkport that were definitely out of our range.  Any suggestions would be helpful!!

I think I remember a friend saying that the Saltwater Grille in South Portland, Maine was not too expensive to host a reception.  It is right on the water.  Ri Ra's in Portland Maine is also VERY reasonable for wedding reception costs (and their food/drink service is great!)
