Harddrive just crashed!!**@*^#%^%^

OH my goodness, My harddrive just crashed on my computer. I have already done my Table seating cards, Wedding signs, Ceremony Programs, Venue design and Day of schedule as well as documenting all of my DYI projects. So now I have to recreate all of these things from scratch in 2 weeks. Wowza. Deep breaths for me. I should have backed them up I know, but time got away from me. All of my 2,000+ pictures and 1,000+ songs are already back up, but I lost all of my wedding stuff. Well I guess it will be a busy 2 weeks because we already have a packed schedule getting ready for the Wedding.

On a good note, We met the Pastor this weekend, and have our final meeting next weekend. I finished wrapping my WP gifts. Made the CD with my wedding music, and my specific Reception music for my DJ (with the music that they don't have). I had my family reunion this weekend, and they decided that we needed to have a pre-bachlorette party since my Mom can't attend the real one. Wow, my family is crazy, but we had a blast. I can't imagine what its going to be like at  the real party. lol

  • Oh no, that sucks!  Good luck recreating everything!  You totally made me just plug in my external hard drive to do a save :)

  • O_o  Ohhhh man. So sorry!!! I've been uploading everything wedding to Google Docs once a week. Hope it all goes a little faster the second time around- hopefully you'll remember lots. Good luck!

  • Try bringing your hard drive to a computer specialist, they may be able to retrieve some if not all of your stuff!!  Good Luck
  • I second PP, if you bring it to someone who knows computer they can likely recover atleast some of those files for you so you don't have to recreate them, if not all. Its rare for files to actually be completely lost, usually you can recover them :)
  • Sorry to hear this!  Agree with PP though.  The time/money going to a specialist would be worth having to recreate anything they can salvage
  • Thanks for the advice. I took it to best buy. $100 later I had most of my information back except for my music but that can be recreated and is not important at the moment. I guess I had a tracer virus that my AVG didn't pick up. My fault for letting my 15 year old niece play on my computer all last week.

I was going to pick up a new hard drive to fix my old falling apart computer, but my fiance surprised me with my Wedding Gift early. We were going to swap gifts (they were supposed to be small) the morning of the Wedding. He know how bad my computer had gotten cause it was old, and I was itching for something newer with ALOT of memory/speed as I'm always very busy on my computer.

He ended up getting me a touchscreen laptop. Its soo cute, and I've been drooling over them since they came out. If I didn't love it so much I would of kicked his butt for spending that much, but I guess what's done is done.
