Are there any relatives or family friends you wish you didn't have to invite?

Yup! But with FI's cousin setting his wedding day for the same day as ours kind of solved that problem for us, lol.

My grandfather and his girlfriend and my two half brothers... close relations yes, but not close relationships. I've only met my two half brothers a handful of times and my grandfather... well he's just a handful!

I don't think so. If we are not close with certain family members (i.e. distant cousins, we are not inviting them.

Haha we both have "crazy Aunts." Thinking about setting them at the same table if they both come... I'm thiking they would hit it off.
It really sucks that FI has a LOT of extended family that we have to invite per his parents (well his mom.) MY family has not added a single person to the guest list. But they are chipping in more money so I guess it makes up for it

Yes! My fi is insisting on all of his childhood friends parents. And my grandmother is insisting I invite a third cousin I haven't seen in almost 10 years because she is "having a tough time and needs a positive family experience" ugh

YES! FMIL's friends. I don't know any of them but she says they have to be there, and FI says he knows all of them too. I just think it's crazy that I have to invite them when my parent's are paying for soem as well as myself and FI. I have soem family that I don't want to invite ( we didn't want any kids there other than our nephews) but my mom says its not fair to split up families- My mom's cousin's kids are 21, 19 and 14, we still have to invite the 14 year old.

Yep- my great aunt and her daughter, but they'll likely be driving my grandma, so I can't really avoid it. Some of my FIs aunts and uncles are a little sketchy, so I wish we didn't have to invite them. I'm just hoping they chose not to make the trip.

Yep. Not very close to my family, and he's not close to his either. They're all tolerable. It's just that they've never been there for us and never will be. We invited them for political reasons (coughOURPARENTSMADEUScough).

Yes. My aunt and uncle. I barely talk to them and because we are keeping our guest list so small, inviting these two are preventing me from having two close friends to the wedding. They live in SC, so Im hoping they politely decline so I can invite my friends.

My mom's side of the family... mainly her brothers and sisters. And bad grandma (we refer to her as bad grandma - I have step grandma - she's good grandma lol).

I probably sound awful, but... they've really never had anything to do with me. They are related by blood, but nothing more. My grandma was never really a grandma to me (or my brother - or really ever a mother to my mom).

But alas.
