Vendor Reviews (PIP): Kokoro Photography, Das Meyer, Boulderado, Tip Top Music, Sturtz and Copeland

The wedding finally happened, and I have to rave about all our vendors, they were fantastic!

Das Meyer: We ordered enough cake for 30 extra people, and we had NONE left over, that's how delicious this cake was!  As science geeks we really wanted a cake with an "evolution" theme, and they pulled it off beautifully- the bottom had protists that are so detailed we could go through and ID them (dinoflagellate, paramecium, etc), then some dynamic dinosaurs, and finally a mastodon.  Our cake topper was from Mudcakes on etsy.com and we loved how well it came out, even with our crazy hairless cat!  The cake came out to less than $5/slice (two specialty flavors and one basic) and the topper was just under $60 including shipping (we paid extra for the cat).

Kokoro Photography: We had a lot of fun with this mother-daughter team, and felt very relaxed.  Our family was chaotic and impossible to wrangle, and they were patient and got great pictures of everyone!  I cannot recommend them highly enough!  Here's a picture from our engagement shoot, and a couple from the wedding:

Sturtz and Copeland: As you can see above, the bouquets were gorgeous!  We wanted simple, colorful, with a wildflower/garden feel and we got exactly what we wanted!  They also did our invites, which came out perfect.  We spent hours in there for both flowers and invites- the service is excellent!

Hotel Boulderado:  You cannot beat this venue for service.  Tonya, our hotel-provided wedding coordinator, made the planning process peaceful and easy and the banquet captain, Thomas, kept the night running smoothly.  They were flexible, helpful, and easy to communicate with.  Working with them was a joy!   Hands down the best food, aside from the buffalo steak which was served a bit too rare for some of our guests' tastes (but cooked how buffalo should be cooked to keep it from getting tough).  I'd leave that off the menu, but everything else was to die for and even the pickiest eaters cleaned their plates each course.

Tip Top Music: Chris is the perfect DJ- he kept everything rolling without being loud or lame, he never advertised himself to our guests (as every other DJ at every other wedding we'd been to has done) and he kept the dance floor packed all night!  Like magic, the old, young, and everyone in between danced their butts off!  He was also super friendly and easy to communicate with, and we appreciated how willing he was to meet multiple times to talk about music.
