    8

ETA: you could squish 9 people at a few if there are some seating issues, but 8 is the standard.
  • I was hoping to fit 10, but my banquet manager said he would not put more than 8 at a 60" table.  Bummer.  :(
  • I've been told you can do 10, but I highly highly doubt it.

  • We're doing 8.  I was at a wedding over the summer that put 10 at 60" rounds.  I would only recommend this if:
    1. your chairs aren't wide
    2. The people at the table know eachother very well
    3. You have tiny people at the tables that don't require much elbow room
    4. You don't have a bunch of glasses, plates, favors, and centerpieces on the table.

It was VERY crowded.  I would even try to avoid 9 if you can, but if you can't make sure there is enough elbow room for everyone.

  • I'm doing 8 and 9 only if one of them is a baby who needs a chair but no place setting.

Well everyone who is allowed to come to my wedding is supermodel-sized, so I should be good!

  • At my venue's tasting/wedding faire, I sat at both 8 & 10 to test them out. 10 was very cramped, and I'm pretty petite. I cannot imagine sitting 5 grown men & their dates at one table. I mean, you can... But I wouldn't do it. Are you trying to save $$ with centerpieces and linens? I can see the benefit in that but if that's the case, there have to be more options.

  • We had mostly 8, but went up to 9 and 10, depending on family dynamics. We had quite a few kids, and I think 2 of the tables with kids had 10. I gave babies a chair too (for the carseat thing) but most parents just brought the baby in without the seat.
  • 8 max.  At our conference last year the biggest complaint in the after action reports was seating 10 at 60" tables. It was awful.
