Budget Friendly Honeymoon Destination

My fiance and I live in Southeast Iowa. We are wanting a tropical destination with lots of fun. We need something that won't break the bank though so it can't be to much of a cost. Any thoughts?

    What is your budget, and how long are you wanting to go?
    Mexico is typically the cheapest option for tropical vacations, between flights and resorts.

    We don't want to spend more than 1500. I am wanting to relax on a beach for 4 or so days but my fiance is wanting adventure, such as bowfishing, hunting etc.
    We are from Ottumwa, IA to be exact.
