Where did you get your dress?

I was going to purchase it at David's Bridal, but I never really saw anything there that I absolutely loved.  Then I came across Ana's bridal in EP and a lot of the dresses there are gorgeous!  Where did you go in RI?  I am looking for a place that the service is wonderful and the dresses have a lot of sparkle!  Thanks!

I bought two dresses, one from Allegria in Belmont, MA and one at La Reine in Waltham, MA.  I just couldn't really find anything very unique in RI.  I went into the shops and immediately recognized dresses my friends had worn.

I got my dress at Filene's Running of the Brides! But I did visit a few bridal salons including Helen's Bridal Shop in East Providence. I didn't find what I wanted but my mother and sister ended up buying their dresses there. They had a very favorable experience - the shop owner and her daughter Ana were attentive and the tailoring service was great. They had no issues. I also liked Dress Express in Fall River, they had a huge selection of reasonably priced gowns. The girls there were really nice and they were not pushy with the sales even after I spent a good deal of their time.

I purchased mine at Wishing Well in east Providence. I went to Davids also but didn't find mcuh, although I did try on different style dresses which helped. I loved loved the service at Wishing Well and didn't feel pushed  into buying my drsss which makes it more relaxing. I found they had the best prices also. GL

I got mine at Cinderella's in Warwick.  I loved my dress, Scott is great, but I advise against getting alterations done there as I wasn't thrilled with mine.

I just recently purchased my dress from Cinderella's! Scott and Judy were the BEST...I couldn't have asked for a better dress finding experience.  They were funny, down to earth and despite the fact that they were short staffed that day, they spent a great amount of time with me and were very, very, patient, LOL!

Jmorta04, who was the person who did your alterations? Now, I'm nervous about getting it done there when my dress comes in!!

I also got my wedding dress at Wishing Well and they have been wonderful!  I had doubts about the dress after purchasing, but they let me come in after hours to try the dress on again & get more people's opinion, which I thought was wonderful customer service.

I also went to Alfred Angelo in North Attleboro (by the Emerald Square Mall) & they had some really nice dresses as well, but more expensive than what I had seen at Wishing Well & Ana's.

Oh & I forgot to mention that my dress @ Wishing Well has Swarovski Crystals all over the lace overlay & it has SERIOUS sparkle, but it's not gaudy.  It's not like the sequins that other people put on dresses, this sparkles in the light & when you take pictures.  And it was under a grand even with the alterations, so in my opinion it was a steal.

I went to Alexandra's in Fall River this weekend and was impressed with their selection.  They are super nice and listen to you.  I do recommend going on a week day, it was super busy on a Saturday and ovewhelming.  I highly recommend the shop, I will be going back this weekend to make my final decision.  It is a quick drive from Providence and no sales tax for RI residents.  GL!

Eugenia did mine.  I wasn't happy with the bustle (the ties were loose and kept breaking throughout the night) and she wouldn't change the length after I told her I would be changing in flip flops during the reception.  She told me the dress would be too short with my heels and even after I told her I didn't care if my shoes showed (they were pink and I loved showing them off!), she wouldn't alter the length.  I was stepping on my dress all night.  She did add a corset to the back of the dress that originally had a zipper but the piece that went behind the ribbon ties was kinda sloppily made and kept slipping throughout the night because it was only attached with one snap on the top.  Very nice woman and I had a great shopping experience there...I just wouldn't have gotten my alterations there if I had it to do all over again.

I also got mine at Allegria in Belmont, MA. And I did go to La Reine and Vows too (in MA). I tried finding dresses in RI since it was closer for my mom to come with me, but just didn't seem to see anything that I loved. I actually tried my dress on at Kleinfeld's (which was a fun experience! especially for my bridesmaids and the moms), but ended up purchasing it at Allegria.

And if anyone is looking to have alterations done, La Sarta Maria in Westerly RI is the BEST! I love her, she does all my clothes, and she did a fabulous job on my dress and bustle.

I got my dress at Cinderella's and agree Scott was fabulous but things went down hill once it came time for the fittings, I always felt rushed and as if I was bothering them.  The icing on the cake was when they ordered the wrong veil and wouldn't admit they ordered the wrong veil and were very rude.  After referring 3 brides to them along with their bridesmaids who all purchased dresses from them to include my BM's I thought they would have been more accomodating.  Margaret, the seamstress, came to the rescue and took my dress and veil and did all the alterations at her home, it was great so I wouldn't have to go back to the store. I was warned about the lack of customer service after the purchase of a dress so I tried to keep things in perspective for Scott was worth it, he has a great eye!

I got mine at Bridal & Gift in Attleboro, MA. It is super small and sort of outdated but they have a large selection of certain designers and I just happened to find my dress there on my first shopping trip.

However, I highly suggest Allegria Bridal in Belmont as the PP's suggested. My bridesmaids purchased their Amsale bm dresses there. The staff was always super nice and helpful and the salon is gorgeous. Definately worth a trip up there.

LOMLBOAT- Is you dress a Sophia Tolli Beckett by any chance? I am going  to Wishing Well next weekend to try it on. I saw it in RI monthly and loved it. When you said it has the Swarovski crystals I just thought it might be the same one.

I also visited Wishing Well in East Providence and it was great, I just couldn't get the dress I liked best in time there so I had to call around. So then I wound up at Carmen's in Fall River, where I spent about 5 minutes getting measured and putting down a deposit - the staff were very helpful but it wasn't exactly a full length shopping trip! :) Would recommend either one of those places though.

I just bought mine at the Bridal SHoppe in Warwick. Comes in February but the owner is very helpful and knowledgable. I got a Casablanca and she was able to order a sample gown to come in for me to try that one and I ended up picking that one as my dress.  Also, I had another dress I was trying to decide between with lots of sparkle an Allure at Bridal & Gift in Attleboro. Kate is very friendly and helpful.

I'm also a Wishing Well bride. This is a family owned business that has been going for over 30 years. The girls are just amazing. They made me try on every style just so I could be sure that it looked terrible on me and that my dress was "the one". My dress budget was 2,500 - so I was pleasantly suprised when she said the dress I fell in love with was only 850!! Ask for Pam - she knows wedding dresses so well she should be working at Kleinfelds! What's best is the girls remember you, which kinda makes you feel like you're important - definitely not the feel of a Davids Bridal where they are just pushing the sale.  <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-laughing.gif" border="0" alt="Laughing" title="Laughing" />

    msstephanielynn -

I completely agree with you.  I just went back this week to look for BM dresses and they remembered that I had been in there and purchased my wedding dress back in August, so it was really nice to be remembered.  I can't speak highly enough of Wishing Well, their staff and all the help they've been.
