I am having an outdoor wedding in July. I know its going to be hot, but we are experiencing extreme temps already! Today it will be 98! Ah... Do you think misters for the dance floor would be a good idea? It is concrete so I dont think it would mess anything up.

Why not rent some airconditioners?

I wouldn't do the misters: people's makeup/hair would get messed up, and they may be wearing dry-clean only outfits or something.

I wouldn't do misters. I'd be fussy if I got all wet on a dance floor. Plus, even though the water wouldn't hurt the concrete... if people are wearing heels, you are going to risk people slipping and falling. That would suck.

I would at least get some fans to set up around the dance floor area. If its a cool day and you end up not needing them, then fine... but if its sweltering, you are going to want that air circulating.

I wouldn't do misters as it could make the concrete really slippery and you wouldn't want anyone to slip & fall

Is your reception area tented? if so, I second looking into portable air conditioning units. Most party rental places should have some available.

July in West Texas? I'd move it indoors personally.

Misters would not be good for reasons stated by PPs, plus heat + wet = humid.

I live in CA were the forecast for July can be anywhere from 76-115! We decided to wait til it got closer at the end of june. You should be able to see a pattern by then. We also decided to an outside wedding. We have partial tenting on the area the sun will constantly be hitting and fans all around to keep people cool.

I'd never suggest having an outdoor wedding in West Texas in July unless it was tented and there will be portable ACs. Seriously. It's going to be miserably hot.

Indeed it will be hot, but it was kind of the only time I could do it!

But no misters! I do have huge swamp coolers rented!
