  I haven't, but we're thinking about Costa Rica too! I've heard good and bad things. We're trying to decide between Costa Rica and St Lucia.

  St. Lucia looks beautiful too   We don't want to take the chance of a hurricane though in the fall... we got stuck in a tropical storm this past October and it was not a good time! lol

  We went to Costa Rica during late October/early November and it rained one night.  Never saw whales, but if you like adventures/beach/rainforests, Costa Rica is a great place to honeymoon in.  Check out Manuel Antonio and La Fortuna.
