To have a clutch or to not have a clutch?

I'm torn!

I think I want/need a clutch for the wedding. Just for lipstick and tissues and (unfortunately) probably tampons. I was originally just going to bring a small bag and leave it in the 'waiting' room but now after looking at etsy.com I want something fun and cute.

My questions are: what are you doing? Will you have one? What's it like? Where did you get it?

Also, my dress is vintiage-ish lace mermaid. Everything about the wedding is very 'soft' and elegant. I think I want a fun and crazy clutch. Like with a big flower or crazy colors or something. My first thought it people will barely notice. I'm not planning on carrying the thing with me the whole night, just leaving it at the table and taking it with me when needed.

It's got a small silver chain strap, but you can't see it in this picture.
I actually bought one in ivory and one in black for my rehearsal.

I decided it would just be easier to have a bag for lipstick, hotel key, and that kind of thing. I will probably leave it in the holding room during the ceremony and hand it off to my FSIL to stash under the sweetheart table while we make our entrances.

I bought this bag (it happened to be on a crazy sale, 14 dollars with free shipping, but the regular price isn't bad).

nhelene! Thank you! Those are really fun - I like that last bow one alot. My dress is ivory but I might order it (I will make sure i can return it first) and see if it will work. And can't beat the price!

thats mine it's from davids bridal, was very inexpensive and had a great vintage feeling. it's also big enought to fit lipstick,an emergency item and a box of altoids, (a personal nessesity!)

Honestly, I had a lot more stuff to carry than would fit in a clutch. I had a large tote bag. Since I was leaving it in the bridal suite at the reception place, and left it in the limo during the ceremony, no one saw it and it was a lot more convenient.

I'm having a small clutch....nothing fancy, no one's going to look at it anyway. Hopefully it's big enough to hold everything I need....and if not, that's what a MOH is for!!! LOL!!!

I had an entire "emergency" kit put together for us with needle/thread, deodorant, tylenol, tampons, mints, shout wipes, granola bars, make up, and more. All of this didn't fit in a clutch of course, so I had all of that in a large bag and didn't feel the need to carry a clutch too. My kit was hidden at the reception, and stayed in the limo while we were doing pictures. I actually did use a handful of things from this bag and recommend that everyone put one together!

I'll definitely have some sort of 'emergency' kit' stashed away somewhere. It will probably be MOG's purse if her older son's wedding was any indication. But the clutch is just something discreet to take with me to the ladies' room.

Yes I think an emergency kit is needed! And the clutch to go with me to the ladies rooms without it looking like I'm packing up to leave for the night.

I think I am in love with a couple clutches on etsy,com. I'm going to have to just do it

I plan to have everything I think I might need in the bathroom basket anyway - so I'll just stash a small one somewhere (probably under the sink behind the curtain) just for me so I dont need to keep track of anything
