Number of BM VS GM

I will have 1 MOH, and 7 BM. My fiance only has 2 GM so far, one may be his Best man but he hasn't decided which yet. My question is how many should he have. He is still planning on asking more but doesn't want 8 guys and he wanted to know how many more hw should ask. I was thinking 5.

That way his BM and my MOH would walk together, then each guy with 2 girls and that leaves one left over so it would be one guy and one girl

Re: Number of BM VS GM

  • Don't go by numbers, it's not important at all. What is important is that the closest people to you are standing up in your wedding. Don't pressure your FI to add more people just for numbers.

If you're worried about pictures, you could have all of your bridal party sit in the first row, rather than stand during the wedding.
  • I was a bridesmaid in a wedding with uneven sides (more BM than GM). No one said anything and the pictures are still adorable/normal wedding pictures.

In this particular scenario, I was a BM that didn't happen to be "paired up" with a GM, but elected instead to walk in linking arms with my good friend (also a BM). We had a great time.

Try not to stress about it!
  • You don’t have to have even sides. Choose people you really care about and want standing next to you, I had 4 BM’s and H had 7 Gm, they walked in groups.
