Bridal Extravaganza - Celebrity China

Hello,

I attended the Bridal Extravaganza this past weekend. I just got a phone call from a lady saying that I just won gifts from Celebrity China. The lady says that I've won two champagne toast glasses and a hotel getaway for a 3 day, 2 night stay.  But, I have to attend one of their showings, where the company's products company's will be displayed and demo.  I asked her if there are any scams, and she said no. I only have to pay taxes on the hotel getaway and I'm welcome to purchase any of their products at the showing.  Has anybody received a similar phone call? Is this legitimate?

I received a call on Saturday, just after leaving the Bridal Extravaganza and 2 more times after that.  They told me I won two champagne toast glasses and a hotel getaway for a 3 day, 2 night stay...

They told me that this is how they do their marketing and they don't have store fronts... so this is how they get people to come in... I think they work like time shares... bait and switch... you have to go to them, listen to some sales pitch before you get your so-called prize...

I told them to please remove me from their calling list.

... and I agree I think they are a scam!

I won last time I went to the Bridal Extravaganza. I had to be rude to the poor guy that kept calling because they didn't take me off the list. It took me asking four times for them to finally take me off.
And now we are as one

yea. it probably is like that time share thing.. my parents went to a thing like that for a cruise before... they were curious and went.. they had to listen to like a four hour sales pitch.. lol. but all they had to pay were the port fees for the cruise.. which they did and went on the carnival cruise.. (and didn't go for the time share! of course. haha) so its probably like that.. listen to their long pitch and they get lots of people who sign up for their pitches.. it just brings traffic into their "store"... crazy way to get customers!

I actually went to the demo.  They were showing off their cookware sets.  EXPENSIVE! we never got our champagne flutes, hotel stay, or free prints for a year from kodak.  after we declined, they would keep calling!! it was harassment.  I was rude to them as well but they didn't get the idea.  the next bridal show I went to I didn't even put my name in the drawing.  However--they still called from the previous entry.  I added them to my phone just started ignoring their calls and eventually they took the hint.  And it wasn't the same person calling either.

They called me about 5 times after the bridal expo in January so i went to the demo.. cookware & china is nice but waaaay to expensive. we didn't buy anything but we got our free glasses.. Kodak camera and the trip is kinda of a rip off so i just threw the packet away after reading the fine print.
