WFD related Q?

How much time are you spending cooking/cleaning up on average? Do you spend less time on work-week nights?

And, do you take time to "cook" lunch or just put something together?

dh and i meal plan every weekend.  he makes lunch; i make dinner.  we each spend about  1/2 hour making those meals, every night.

if i want something different, it's on me to actually make it.  if dh is going out to lunch, he still needs to make me a lunch.

on weekends, we eat out or eat leftovers.

It depends. If I'm meeting the Pope for dinner, I usually have to wait until Liza Minelli's finished making her famous pork chops. And I'm pregnant with my cat and could really go into labor at any moment, so it kinda hinges on that, too. Oh, and wrestling practice sometimes gets in the way. But the Pepsi gets me through it.

    HE ONLY WANTS TO HELP.

    What was your question?

It depends. If we feel like cooking we spend about an hour making dinner and cleaning up. H usually bbqs on either saturday or sunday, which takes 6-8 hours, but one pork butt will give us leftovers for up to 2 weeks. So if we don't want to cook on a weeknight we can just assemble something out of leftovers.

I make dinner almost every night during the week. It typically takes me about 30 minutes to make dinner. Less if I've prepped, more if I haven't.

On the weekends we usually go out. Or if we get lazy we'll just make whatever, like a can of soup or grilled cheese.

I typically go home for lunch, and whatever I make there is a 5-10 minute process.

I am the chef in the house, days off sometimes result in more complicated dinners compared to work days. I don't really meal plan per se, I keep my freezer stocked and play "What fell out today!" sometimes when deciding dinner. Mostly because I don't get home on work days until 8 pm or so.

I tend to take leftovers for lunch, sometimes I grab a frozen meal. DH eats lunch in his cafeteria, it is really good, subsidized and they make the food fresh. My hospital cafeteria is quite the opposite.

Well, I meet Jesus for Dinner, and Liza always has the pork chops ready when I get there. And I'm pregnant with two cats. They're twins. I'm already in labor. I used to wrestle but I won everything already so I don't have to practice any more. And i get pepsi through everything, it needs me. Also I survived lupus three times.

We meal plan, but I don't cook every night.  Typically I cook 2 nights and we eat left overs for 2 nights.  I'd say dinner takes anywhere from 30-60 from start to finish.  I will do longer or more intricate on the weekends.

Lunches are typically sandwiches, soups, or frozen meals.

We don't eat out often- twice a month for lunch and once for dinner.  Maybe.

I pretty much plan all of the meals, and do most of the cooking.  DH cooks sometimes.  Lunch is usually leftovers.

Work nights, it tends to be something quick--crock pot or something that can be thrown together, like a grilled chicken salad.

Jesus is my brother and he makes magical pork chops for me a Liza. My mom was a cat and I am part of a 12 kitty litter. I don't wrestle, I beat bitches up and Pepsi is my sponsor. Fat Charlie tries to kill me all the time, but my death stares kill him everyday. So yeah.........

Myrtle, Can't Wait-- Actually, Usually Jesus makes the chops and handles the wine situation.  And Liza and brings sides. She doesn't like to be upstaged by Jesus but what can you do? And my chef father makes the best chops anyway. I had my cat last week, Its already teaching latin and spanish lessons to underprivaledged kids in Lithuania. She finds time to write but I miss our special bond. I actually wrestled the Lupus, but you only have to beat it once. Usually I just fill my opponents with Pepsi till their bones are so brittle I crush them under the weight of my giant ego.

MIL cooked 3 meals a day every day for her 6 kids. H had pretty high meal expectations at first but I'm glad to hear that that I'm pretty much on par with normal wives. The D-line usually comes to our house for Sunday lunch after church, though. Since that requires extra effort I usually declare Monday leftovers or hamburger helper day.

Hmo, I love your lunch "deal" with your H.

Also question: Does anyone have an H whose taste is totally different from theirs? H loves really homey food with butter and salt but not much herbs/spices. I never cooked with butter/salt for myself and like the adventourous stuff my Dad cooked. I usually end up having to season things seperately. And I miss avacados and couscous, H thinks they are weird.

Different tastes? DH is a meat and potatoes guy and I'm a vegetarian.

We're pretty opposite when it comes to food.

Loveshine. That's pretty opposite. Do you make him the meat at dinner? Is ther some sort of compromise.

I would eat soup/grilled cheese 3x a week- but my H hates soup and drilled cheese. Who hates grilled cheese! He likes bread, he likes cheese smothered things, but not grilled cheese.
