Photography Revisited

Ok.  I know I just posted about photographers, but now I need help with time.

I want the getting ready shots of both Bride/BM and Groom/GM.  Thinking also doing as many photos as possible before the ceremony minus Bride/Groom shots.  (still pondering him seeing me ahead of time)

so with the following timeline, what do you all suggest for photography, hourly? unlimited?  if hourly, how many hours?  I have no idea how long it takes to get ready, etc. so if you all that have clues, please share some clues with me?  Thanks.!

5pm ceremony
530-630 cocktail hour
630-1030 reception

Re: Photography Revisited

  • Each photographer is different, but sounds like I would go with someone who will be with you all day (flat rate) in this situation, especially if you are doing the getting ready shots in different places than where your ceremony is taking place.  That way pics are not rushed.

  • Your timeline will expand once you get closer and closer to your date. I know mine did, lol. You will have to take into account everything but once you have all your vendors the the timeline will be more detailed. As for photography, I like all day coverage rather than set hours for a wedding. I have full wedding day coverage which makes me feel better because I won't worry about time and trying to get all the shots I want or feel hurried. Sometimes stress can show in pictures and knowing myself....it would def show on my face. We are doing the first look because it will be the only time which we will alone without anyone else....just us and our photographer and videographer. It's a private moment between us and we both want to have that. Besides, daylight savings time will be in effect so we have to use the daytime as much as possible before the sun sets.

One last thing I forgot to mention or ask. Are you having your ceremony and reception at the same location? If not account that time needed to travel from ceremony to reception on your time line. Also, if you a set amount if hours for covering your wedding then beware of overtime fees which the photographer may add to your total cost.
  • Thank you!! I was leaning toward all day coverage but was unsure. Guess I need to find someone with all day coverage.

  • Also, get a photographer who will have an additional shooter, that way 1 can photograph you and your bms getting ready, and the other can get shots of your groom and his gm. That should help save on time.

  • Call Rubber Boots Photography LLC.  They have great rates and are very flexible! Which is what every bride needs.  Hope this helps.
