My fiance's sister, my soon to be sister in law was dating a man for 4 years. They were planning on getting engaged before the end of the year, and we spent a lot of time with them. We hadn't asked him officially yet, but we were planning on asking him to be a groomsman for our wedding. Tragically, my sister and law and her would have been fiance were in a car accident, hit by a drunk driver on their way on vacation in Disney World in the beginning of October . He passed away and we are really still in shock over it. He died just days after our -1 year wedding date. I know its going to be INCREDIBLY difficult for my sister in law next year for the wedding, and Im very worried how to handle the situation delicately. Do I leave a spot in the bridal party open for him? Do I do something special to remind her of him? My fiance wants to do a picture at the reception with a candle, and one of my friends recommended a bouquet picture frame with his picture. (a small frame pinned to the handle of her bouquet.)
Any thoughts or ideas regarding how to handle this situation would be really wonderful, and very much appreciated! Thank you in advance!
