What do you think of this favor idea?

Hi all...I was trying to think of what to give as favors I want it to be something people will actually want to take and not leave behind. I thought food would be the least likely to be left behind. I was thinking of having my mother make her homemade chocolate truffles and dust them with silver edible glitter. My problem is that I don't want people to think my favor are lame or cheap. What do you guys think? Is this a good idea or will it come off as cheap because they are homemade?
Thanks!

I think it is a great idea. You can find some cute little tulle bags or what not to tie them up in. You could even do a favor tag with your names, date and thank you on it. That is something you could do on the computer, get some colored ribbon, hole punch them, and tie the little bags up. Voila. Cheap, cute and edible = awesome

I think it's a great idea.  All of our guests came from OOT so their favors were in the bags.  One friend got excited because she thought I put my homemade sugar cookies in there and was disappointed that it was a soft Philly pretzel (went better with the beer).  I happened to have some of the homemade cookies so I sent them to her and she was thrilled.

I think that is an awesome idea. I would put them in little favor boxes with ribbon and a favor tag :D

I make homemade candies too, so I can personally say this is an awesome idea.  Last year I gave out chocolates to people who had never had mine before, and they basically all told me to become a candy-man.

My opinion on edible favors is that they need to be something unique that your guests cannot get from a vending machine - so this will be sure to impress.  She can make them ahead of time and freeze them, which also makes for less stress that week.

I think it's a great idea because it is homemade!!

Put them in a cute box and favor tag and you got yourself an inexpensive favor that people can eat! =)

mmmmmmmm  chocolate truffles.  I'd think you were just the best!  =)

Awesome idea!  Someone mentioned an organza bag-be careful due to heat, etc, they may melt  or smear into the organza.   I do love those organza bags, though!!

Totally great idea, just definitely be mindful of the storage (organza) and temperature.

We're doing homemade peanut brittle from a Nashville vendor, moonshine-infused homemade fudge from an East tennessee vendor, and mini Tennessee T-cakes from Nashville in a brown gift bag as our wedding favors.  So of course I love your idea!!! :)  Food is least likely to be left behind!

Thanks everyone who posted! My Mother said she would make them and I think I'l put them in white paper cups and then in little gold boxes...sort of like godiva...and then put a thank you sticker with our name and date on them. Good luck to all of you!
