OK! Finally going to do this!
THE GOOD:
-our location was AMAZING. I was second guessing myself in the weeks leading up the the wedding (getting married on a lawn vs on the actual beach in the sand....and I started to love another beach) but it was so unbelievably perfect. I was so happy with it. LIME TREE FOR ST. THOMAS. I'm TELLING YOU.
-our minister was so awesome! He was our wedding planners husband and I was worried about someone marrying us who we met 20 minutes before the ceremony but he took time to talk to Darryl and I before the ceremony and made it personal. Relaxed, casual, and exactly what we wanted. So happy with him. Go Stuart Scott!
-EVERYONE MADE IT! My BIL had a later flight on Sunday and I was worried about him being there on time. 10 people. A hurricane the week of our flights. At least one, if not 2, connections for all of us. But ALL of us made it with all of our luggage!
-My dress made it! I was super worried about flying with a dress (I know this is a common thing with DW brides) but I am telling you it'll be fine. I smooshed mine up and put in in a carry on. Let the shower run for 15 minutes as hot as it would go once we were on the cruise and wrinkles came out fine.
-Weather for the most part was awesome. Rained for maybe 30 minutes the night of the wedding, hit a storm the last night of the cruise, but other than that it was sunny the entire time!
-The cruise was AWESOME. I know Carnival's gotten mixed reviews here and elsewhere around the web, but honestly I had no problems at all and wouldn't hesitate to cruise with them again.
-Our photographger was AMAZING. I havent seen our pix yet but she was sweet, unobtrusive, and so so helpful.
-Our AHR was a success! So much fun and I think people had a good time!
The Bad:
-my wedding planner seemed a little....i'm not sure of the right word. Standoffish maybe (?) at the wedding. I mean she was nice, but our entire interaction was maybe 3 sentences. I also didn't get any champaign that was supposed to be part of our package. She was great leading up to it, and I'd still reccommend her, she just wasn't my favorite person I dealt with that day.
-I didn't love my hair. I wanted it down. Badly. i let the hair stylist talk me into putting it up because she said it would frizz pretty bad. I'm sure she was right, but looking at my pictures I really, really wish it was down. She was super nice though (she even laced up my dress for me!) so i'll let it slide.
-It. WAS. HOT. i honest to god didn't notice it during the ceremony, but during pictures.....let's hope I'm not a sweaty mess!
-Getting to the courthouse was kind of a fiasco. We took a taxi....who decided to keep stopping at scenic overlooks and offering us a tour for $20. Mister, I'm trying to get married! Ain't nobody got time for a tour!!!! It all worked out though so I'm calling it bad vs. ugly.
UGLY
-I had RIDICLOUS tan lines. I made the mistake of sitting out in Puerto Rico...with a halter top on.....YIKES.
-ok only because it was literally ugly...we got SMASHED at the AHR. Like OMG not since I was 22 level smashed. Honestly, I'd do it all over again though. Saturday was a ROUGH DAY though.
And some pix:
