Oakview Terrace

I found Oakview Terrace and and wondered if anyone has been there? We want exclusive use of a venue for our wedding and finding it hard to find locations that fit 150 or more people....
We haven't gone to visit the venue yet but what are your thoughts??

Oakview terrace is gorgeous...it was one of the places that we looked out but it turned out to be to expensive for us because we're only having 100 guests and the minimum there is 125.  The great thing about Oakview Terrace is that is has a really nice chapel and the ground are beautiful...plus you get exclusive use of the whole place....It' definitely worth checking out.   Also, if you don't mind going a little farther north I would suggest Dinardo's - The Mansion and Madsen's Greenhouse which is where we are having our wedding in Sept. 2012.

Hi Tmigas! Thanks for the info. We will be checking out venues in the Fall (we are also looking at getting married Fall 2012!!!)
Dinardo's seems like a great location too.
The website for Madsen's Greenhouse seems a little unorganized but you must have loved the location if you booked it! Will your wedding be outside ?

We are getting married at Oakview Terrace this October.  I have actually been to a wedding there so I was able to see how everything would be on our big day and was extremely pleased.  The food is amazing and so are the staff, they have been very helpful during the whole planning process.  You will see when you go there that there are tons of trees and the colours in the fall should be amazing.
    Good luck venue shopping!

    Hey Sarah,

I was looking at a few other venues - checkout the Garden and Banquet Centre in Brampton, or West River in Vaughn - or did you still want a venue where you're the only event?  If so, check out the Eglinton Grand or the Rosehill - the Eglinton can accomodate up to 700 people, and the Rosehill, you can choose your own caterer.

Thanks for the info Jewel! I'm starting to realize that it may not be worth the $$ to have a venue exclusively ours...we will be making appointments to look at some of these venues (oakview included!!) in the Fall :)

    Hi,

I just had my wedding at Oakview last week and it was AMAZING! The venue is gorgeous, their gardens are just beautiful. The food is really good too. All of our guests kept coming up to us and telling us how good everything tasted. Both myself and my husband are picky when it comes to food and we didn't have 1 complaint.

Another plus is that the chappel is right there so if you want to avoid driving all over the city from place to place, and if you want your guests to enjoy themselves instead of also driving around, this is the place to go with. You can have your ceremony, your coctail hour and then your dinner all at one place.

The only thing is, we had our coctail hour on the terrace instead of doing it inside because weather was so great. I think if you will do your coctail hour inside, it might be a little cramped for 150 guests. We had 120 and it was just perfect for that amount of guests.

Also, since the venue and the chappel are so pretty, you don't need too many decorations which also saves you money.

The staff was friendly, helpful and very responsive. I probably sent them 300 emails with different questions and they always replied on time and with enough info.

I guess you get the point but i'm just inlove with this place. :)

    Would recommend it for sure.

We went to visit Oakview and the grounds are beautiful, but the deal breaker was the reception hall. It was very nice and intimate and perfect for 150 but I don't think more.
The cocktail (indoors) was not spectacular and you'd have to spend money on decor over there.
The garden and view is very nice and lots of picture opportunities.

The Chapel was really nice too except that it was a Chapel - we want a Jewish wedding the the Fiance was not comfortable it was church like. I thought it was really nice.
