Center pieces

Hey ladies,

I just found out that my reception venue can actually let us use some centerpiece materials they have for the night of our wedding.  Apparently they have mirrors and candles that we can use, but they have to stay at the site after the reception, not be given away as gifts.

My question is: is it worth it?  Honestly, I'm not that creative and really don't want to spend the extra money as our budget is so tight already that we can't afford to do flower centerpieces.  Is anyone besides my FMIL going to care if they can't take home a center piece?

Thank you!

i honestly dont think anyone would be upset. i 'won' the centerpiece at the last wedding i went to, and it sat in my car for 9 months until i threw it away,

I had wanted to do a centerpiece giveaway, but decided against it... there are so many other "games" you can play... i was also on a tight budget and decided to save the money!

I did not give away my centerpieces.  I am planning to sell them.
    No one seemed upset.
I have too many odds and ends junk from the CP's at other people's weddings...  now just more random "stuff" taking up space at my house...
If they'll let you use their stuff, and it looks decent - go for it!  I honestly think too many couples stress way too much over this detail.

It would have to be a really great centerpiece for me to want to take it home.  If you like what the venue provides, just use that.  (although if you have aunties like mine, place someone at the door to let them know they are NOT to take the centerpieces home -  my aunties will pocket anything not nailed down)

how did you girls tell guests not to take the center pieces?

I'm with the other ladies.  If they look good, use 'em.  Obviously this is not a priority for you and that's fine.  Although I plan on doing my own, I'm hoping to sell them afterwards as well.  So I guess I need to find a way to make sure that no one takes them home!

I had a give away, but during my consultation the coordinator at the reception said she was pretty good at stopping people if we used their centerpieces.  I'm pretty sure mos t guests would take without asking.
