What do you think of this idea?

Hi Girls,

I do not have enough budget to splurge on a real photo booth, but I really like them! Ever since I was a little girl, I always loved to take pictures of myself holding the camera at arms length and snapping them... my mom would find random ones when she got her cameras developed (remember when film had to be developed? heheheh). These pictures became known in my family as "Famous Amy" pictures. I have a million pictures of me doing this with other people, and I had an idea but I'm not sure if its stupid or if people would even like it.

I was thinking of buying either a semi cheap polaroid camera and film or having a digital camera at a table for people to take "Famous Amy" pictures. I would have a poster board sized collage of a lot of my "Famous Amy" pictures, with a sign and a little explanation about waht it is. Then, people could take pictures of themselves for the "Famous Amy" photobook, and I would even send them a copy of the picture (if I decided to go digital). This wouldn't be a guest book thing (we're doing the thumbprint tree) but just a fun detail to add. I would call it "Famous Amy's Photobooth."

So, what do you think? Will guests think I am silly for having them take pictures of themselves when really in these you only see the face? Will they hate it? Will they do it? What would you think if you were a guest?

I was also thinking that if someone were around they could have someone take the picture... I dunno.... what do you ladies think? Thanks!

I think this idea is cute! If someone doesn't like it, they won't do it--but I think most folks will find it fun!

I'd do it! In my circle of friends we called that shot the "Leslie" and at her wedding I know she took several such photos with all her family and friends! She also had her 10 year old niece taking pictures in a "photo booth" that was just a sheet hung up in the back with lots of props available for silly pictures.

HAHAHA I do that all the time!!!!! I have pics of myself doing a fishface for the camera too!! I think people would find it fun and do it, but if they don't, it is always a cute idea!!

About 10 years ago EVERYONE had disposible cameras at the tables much in the way I feel like EVERYONE is doing a candy buffet. So, I don't think that's a weird idea. Just know that you may get many other types of pics mixed in, not just "Amy" shots!

I was going to do something similar! They have new polaroid cameras that still print pictures, but are also digital, so you'll have a copy of them! They are really cool.

You could also use the digital versions as part of your thank you notes. It could be cute to give guests a thank you note with a picture of how much fun they had at your wedding! Plus, you'll also have those pictures for your memories.
