Logo Frustration

I know I'm being a little impatient but I asked my Father who is a retired graphic designer and my younger Brother who is the head GD at a major company to help me with our logo.  I know what I want and my Father said he may get to it "next March" and my brother said weeks ago he would sketch something up and email it to me within a few days. Nothing yet from either of them.  In my brothers defense he has 3 kids under 3 and just got back from business overseas so I will give him that.  I know I have ten months but I have a nerve condition in my arms and it takes me two to three times as long if something involves fine motor skills, like many of my DIY projects.  Needless to say its going to take me a while for my invites, programs, welcome letters, you get the picture.  Does any one know of a site that is easy to use that I can create a logo?  I wanted to do a simple shell with coral winding out of each side, maybe with our intials in the coral.

I love publisher and it can't hurt for you to play around with it. I scanned in the coral off of our invitations suite and then included it on all the rest of the paper items. Check out my bio, I think our logo might sound a lot like what you are looking for. And you can always save your publisher designs as a jpg. and upload it to VistaPrint and have your logos printed out or you can order labels off of Online Labels.com

I looked at publisher a little bit but will play with it more tonight when I get home. I wasn't able to look at your bio but if you have a link or pic I would love to see it.

Just keep annoying them :)  They're bound to get sick of it and give it to you!  Maybe give your brother another week or so to let things calm down at home and then ask him again!

I just found a font I liked on dafont.com and used it when making a logo (which I then created in PowerPoint).  I ended up making mine into a personalized stamp (which I ordered from Impress stamps - impressrubberstamps.com) that I used in a few different places in our DIY projects.

Sure, here is the link for the logo in the bio http://www.mywedding.com/savvylittlebride/photo_357479_16793004.html we also ended up placing a rhinestone in between Oahu and Hawaii, it added a nice touch. And here is the finished product on the invite

thank you Savy, I really like your blog and some of your ideas.  Our colors are very different but it gave me a starting point.  I will definately look into the publisher.

I am buying a graphic design off of etsy.com

There are several people who will make custom images of save-the-dates or invites based on your requests. They will then email you a jpeg and you can print and copy the images however you like them.  I found one online that charged $15 and she said she'd keep editing as many times as I wanted until I liked the look of the save-the-date postcards.  That may be a type of person who you may want to work with.
