Programs

I'm pretty sure this has been talked about before but I can't find the thread. What is everyone doing for programs? Where are you getting them? I haven't DIYed anything yet (I'm not very creative and I'm short on time) so I'd rather just order them from somewhere. I can't really find anything I like though and I'm not sure what to do. So what is everyone else doing?

Re: Programs

  • I am just doing a normal booklet program and I am DIY.  I bought the booklets from Gartner Studios online and that comes with the template.

  • I'm also DIYing them... I got an awesome template through one of the girls on the DIY board and edited away.  It's just a single sheet printed on both sides that will be folded into 3.

I'm printing them through Kinkos or something to save my own ink at home.

    Sorry... I'm no help...

I get a lot of stuff in the mail from Magnetstreet for their programs... you can find coupon codes to use online for them.

  • Ooh the fan programs look really cute! That's such a good idea.

And the Gartner Studios ones are nice too. I think they sell something similar at Michaels? I've seen them there and thought about trying to do them.

    Thanks ladies (:

  • Oh I forgot about Magnet Street haha I got my save the dates from there too!

  • Yes Michael's sells simalar ones but the normal booklet- which is what I wanted was cheeper to order from Gartner.
  • we are DIY-ing them also....haven't gotten around to this yet, this is one of our projects scheduled for June after we meet with our minister for the last time and finish writing our ceremony!
  • I need to figure this out sometime soon - once we settle on the ceremony music. I will probably be DIYing them, though. I did a pretty good job with the OOT brochure (thanks, Bmore!) so I think I can figure it out. Sorry that's not much help!

Even though you're not Catholic, I believe there are also some templates on the Catholic wedding board if you wanted to look at those (although you'd switch around the wording). I bet they even have suggestions for websites to use.

K8, would you mind sending me the template?

I haven't even given them a thought and I need to. But, we've got to meet with our minister to go over the ceremony so I know what to put in the program. Which this reminds me, I'm going to text FI right now to contact the minister to set up a meeting. (Our minister is a friend of FI's from college. They played football together. FI stood up in his wedding about 10 years ago, and now he will be marrying us!)

Oh, and if anyone else would be so kind to share their template with me, I'd really appreciate it!! :)

  • I am DIY'ing mine since my programs are long (6 sides or 2 full pages total). I am just printing the program on regular white paper and glueing the outside piece of paper against thick cardstock (in my wedding colors from Michael's) to make a booklet (that can double as a fan if needed). I bought a cute stamp from etsy that I will use on the front of the programs.  I just have to buy white ink for the stamp, finalize the program with the priest, and start the project probably next month.

It will look totally DIY since I'm not crafty but I didn't want to spend a ton of money on programs.

Actually I'm using double sided tape to secure the paper to the cardstock. Glue just made the cardstock become wavy when I did a sample program and it looked horrible!
  • I kept a few different programs from past weddings, so that was kind of my template. The friend who did our invites which btw, are all sent now!! is helping. We are doing 4 long and skinny pages. The first is kind of a title page, with our names and date and church etc. The second is the ceremony order, third is bridal party, and fourth is thank you and our new address. The really aren't hard to DIY. ps I'm on TKM, so sorry about the spacing

  • Great, thank you everyone! I probably will look into DIYing them then. It can't be that hard, right? hah

bridetobe: I'm Catholic but unfortunately was unable to have a catholic ceremony because of my FI ): We're trying to have a ceremony as similar to that of a Catholic one as possible. I'll def. check out their boards! Thanks for the suggestion.
