Can't find my dress!

I fell in love with a dress I found in a magazine. I know the designer and many bridal boutiques in the area carry the designer. However, not a single one carries that exact dress! Some of them have told me they could take elements from similar dresses to compile something that would be almost the same. If I like it they can order me the dress I want. I really wanted to try on the dress, not something close. If I'm spending all that money I want to make sure I love it. Does anyone have any suggestions??

    If you find the right shop, they can get it on loan for you to try on. I did that. I had a bad experience with a wedding shop and then I went to another place with the name of the dress. They ordered it so I could try it on there and then I ordered it thru them. I am pretty sure as long as the shop carries the designer, they can usually do something like that. At least my shop did. It's definitely worth asking.

    I agree. do NOT buy a dress without trying it on. They look very different on adn you might end up hating it on you ..Things I loved ended up looking hideous on me and things I would have never thought were nice looked great

    this happened to me then they discontinued the line it was in cuz it was older. Couldnt find the dress anywhere except in a size 14 but im a 4 and theres no way i can try on a dress that big it won't look right... but i loved it so much and tried on many styles like it SO I BOUGHT IT(they told the shop they still have fabric and it would be the last order for the dress) . I know its bad and I might hate it but its a risk im willing to take because Ive tried on so many dresses and keep comparing them to that dress.
