RD locations in/around Portsmouth

Hey everyone! We are having a small rehearsal dinner (about 8-10 people, small bridal party) and are trying to find a restaurant to accommodate us. We just want a place that has a quiet section/private section but nothing to big. We're getting married at Cottage by the Bay in Dover so we were hoping for Portsmouth or Dover for the restaurant. The rehearsal is on a Thursday if that makes a difference.
Thanks so much for your help, FMIL was supposed to do this but forgot until now! EEK!!

    Muddy River Smokehouse has a downstairs function area. Also, Portsmouth Gaslight has a function area. I believe the Portsmouth Brewery does as well. For a party of 8-10 you can probably call around and see if they accept reservations as you probably won't need a larger function space. Just explain if it's possible you'd like to be seated out of the way. They'll probably be accommodating, as it's sometimes off-putting for smaller parties to sit near a large group anyway!

    I hear that Cartellis in Dover is delish!  Also Kelley's Row in Dover.

    Fat Belly's in Portsmouth has an upstairs area that they usually open at night/weekend. They could probably do a private things there for you.

    A little know fact in Dover is that The Central wave actually has awesome food (they have a new chef). Mira is the owner if you call and talk to her she will set aside the small room for you and the chef will make whatever your heart desires. They are awesome. Swing in sometime and instead of ordering off the menu try the specials... It is a sports bar atmosphere but a fun place.

    Oh we also ate last night at Christophers third st grill in dover. Great food and relaxed atmosphere.
