Wedding favors

Hey y'all, wedding favor question.  I had designed our own Mardi Gras beads for wedding favors...  they are really cute, medallions are made out of that poly/plastic stuff and painted.  The medallion part is a big fleur de lis with a banner across the top that says "Krewe of Davis" (my NEW last name soon!!!)  and a banner across the bottom that says our names and wedding date.  I got a good price from one of the big Mardi Gras vendors that makes custom throws for all the big parades... Endymion and Orpheus... but my FH pointed out the other day that he thought most people would probably just end up throwing them away.  I hadn't really thought about it like that and I would hate to spend the money on something if that was the case, I just thought it was a really cute idea and kindof ties into our theme.  So then I was thinking of doing copycat Tiffany boxes with personalized M&M's inside.  Our colors are black and white and aqua(tiffany) blue, so it would still kinda tie in color wise.  And it would be personalized because the M&M's would have our name and wedding date, also.  Thoughts? What are all of y'all doing for favors?

I bought two piece black boxes with green ribbon (our colors) and my mom and I are making little pecan pralines to put in the boxes for the favors.  About half the guests will be from out of town and I wanted to give them some local flavor.  And who doesn't love pralines....a little labor intensive, I know.  But they can be made ahead of time because they keep well.  I do love the bead idea, though.

I originally thought about doing pralines in monogrammed packages or an assortment of truffles. However FI came about with the the idea that is really us so, we are going to do donut holes in little boxes and have the little bottles of Brown's Dairy white and chocolate milk. He also wants a candy bar but, I don't like the idea and the think it might be too much.

Love the donuts and milk!  What a greast idea!!  We are making homemade from scratch Italian wedding cookies, putting them in clear celophane bags and tying them with ribbon. The ribbon in color coodinated with the decorations and has our names and date printed on it.  It's a family recipe so we are sharing it with our guests by attaching a recipe card to each bag. We didnt want to waste money on something that our guest would just throw away either. We decided to inculde the recipe card just to add that personal touch that our guests could take home.
