BM Dresses- How soon is too soon?

So I'm planning a June 2nd wedding for next year.  I've been scouting out bridesmaid dresses for months and with input and help from my girls I think we've found a dress that we all love and will be flattering to all figures.

It's 7172 at Alfred Angelo.  It is marked as a "NEW" style.  Does anyone have a rough estimate as to how long dresses are available for?

Is it too early to make this final decision? I don't want to 'jump the gun' so to speak, but I don't want to miss out either.

HELP!

That's a cute dress! I'm not sure how long dresses typically stay in Alfred Angelo's rotation, but that's something one of the consultants may be able to tell you. My bridesmaid dresses are from Alfred Angelo. Each girl got a different style, all in the same color, and all of their dresses are still available. We started searching in January.

But, honestly, as long as you are absolutely sure these are the dresses you will want, why not go for it? Just make sure you won't have a change of heart. Are you absolutely sure about your color scheme? Have you already determined the style of your wedding (if you haven't or if it changes, you could realize you'll need a different style of dress)? Do you already have your wedding dress picked out? Will the dresses "go" with it? Do you think any of your bridesmaids will go through any major body changes in the next year that will affect getting measured and sized for the dress?

    Good luck!

I am getting married one month from today (eek) and we found our bridesmaid dresses last spring.  I wrote down the style and called a few times to make sure it was still available.  We got the dresses at David's Bridal and one of the consultants said she would call me if it was being discontinued.  I had my girls purchase their dresses in October.  I felt bad having them buy them so early, but in the long run, it worked out.  The girls said it was helpful purchasing them ahead of time because it broke up all of the money they would have to spend on wedding related things.

I would ensure that I had several things in place first: 1) reception venue, 2) definite color scheme, 3) sense of formality.  While we were still searching for a venue, I thought I knew for sure what colors/style I would want no matter where.  Well, it turns out that I went from short styles to long styles because we decided to go more formal and my colors changed from pewter/dark pink to pewter/light pink/light green to pewter/rich fall colors to the final choice of pewter/pale peach/ivory.  Phew!  Lot's of changing my mind and I sure would've been in trouble if I actually moved forward with the girls' dresses!!!

I searched for a good 6-7 months before actually choosing a BM dress and other than some new styles, I didn't notice a change in the ones already available.  IMO, I think you have a good plan by having the store call if the dress will be discontinued but I would be be cautious of ordering this early if you haven't figured out some of those major details:)

I think I probably should have mentioned early on that I'm a planning FREAK.  We've been planning since Sept '10 and I've already got the venue for ceremony and reception booked, my dress purchased, DJ and Photog also booked.

So I've got a pretty good grasp on what we're looking at :)

I too am a planning freak :) AND, we share the same Wedding date!  My girls just ordered their dresses this month.  I see No problem as long as like the girls said you are positive on color & bridal party.
