I'm currently in a long distance relationship. he lives in Florida, I live in Washington. we talked about getting married in Las Vegas because they stream the ceremony live, and all of our family can watch without having to break the bank to be there in person. but what about the reception? should we have 2 small, in-home, uncatered (potluck/buffet style) receptions for both our families, or just 1 big, traditional catered at a fancy venue reception for anyone that can afford to fly out? 2 receptions means 2 cakes and 2 photographers and twice the decorations and the cost to travel, it may cut into our honeymoon budget, but would save our families money... or should we just not bother with a reception at all?
