Checks! And questions re: Limo Bus

I haven't posted on here in a while but I just recently squared away the rest of our vendors and I'm excited because it seems like things are all coming together so I thought I'd post :) We recently put a deposit down for our florist and wedding cake and I'm really confident those vendors willl be great to work with! The only thing we have left to figure out is our transportation. Which brings me to my question:

We need to get a limo bus for our wedding party- one person is handicapped so we feel that will be the easiest and most comfortable for everyone. I have seen some recommendations for Tortoise Limo and TDF Limo. If any of you have used these or another transportation company for a limo bus, how much did it cost? I want to have something to compare so I know if I'm getting a good deal or not!

Also, when did you start looking into transportation? I'm at 7 months til the wedding, and even though TK says 2-3 months for transportation, it seems things book up quick in Pittsburgh (ex. Photog, MUA, hair stylist). Thanks ladies!

Re: Checks! And questions re: Limo Bus

  • We are using tortise limo and our wedding is in may. I booked back in July because we are getting married a holiday weekend and with prom season it is a bit busy. I called around and at first T gave me a price for 4 hours and everything 950 dollars for a 16 passenger bus. I called around becase they said they would beat anyone. TDF gave me a quote for the same for 775 I believe same time and everything. I prefer Tortise because I used them all through hs for dances and 2nd TDF never responded to me when I asked other questions.

  • we are using tortorice, many good reviews here on this board. i originally was going to go with TDF but even though many people have had great things to say about them, i had same problems as pittpoint, i called twice and left messages and never heard back. i dont understand why people give you information and then when you're ready to actually hand over the money they are nonresponsive. i had no issues with tortorice communication so hopefully all goes well with them as it has for many others.

  • If you don't mind an actual mini-bus, Lenzner is $560-ish for seven hours for a 25 person mini-bus. We used them and they were awesome, the driver was fantastic. He waited for H and I after the reception and didn't charge us extra even though we were late.
