Calling guests who haven't rsvpd?

How soon is too soon? I know I obviously have to wait until the rsvp deadline has passed but can I start right away or is there a buffer period that I should wait? We're missing over half of our rsvps!

    I would normally give it a buffer period because some people think the RSVP date is the send by date.  Hopefully some will come in the week after the RSVP date.

    We're not giving a buffer period though because we need to give our venue the final count like 4 days after the RSVP date, so I'm going to have my mom start calling people that weekend.

    Oh, also remember that if some of the RSVPs are coming from up north, they could have been stalled because of the snow.  I know mail wasn't running for a few days up there. 

    And today's also a holiday, so they might come in tomorrow.

    I waited a week before I started calling.  I am still waiting on some RSVPs and my deadline was 9 months ago Wink

    My deadline is actually this Saturday so it hasn't passed yet. I just want to be prepared for when I can start calling. To be honest, I really believe that a lot of the missing rsvps are people who have already decided but just assume I know whether they're coming or not coming (because apparently I'm a mind reader). A lot of them are FI's friends from work. Supposedley a big group is driving down together, yet none of them have actually rsvpd. Grrrrr!!!

    My rsvp date is a week before I have to tell the catering the count so I will be calling ASAP!

    I will be calling a few days after the deadline, which is March 15th. We asked my stepbrother last night if he was coming and he said yes, when asked why he didn't RSVP he said, I just figured you know. How am I supposed to know that? With my special mind-reading powers?

    So, I have the feeling other people will be thinking the same way, so I'll have to call and confirm. Irritating.
