  I didn't have yesterday off so my weekend ended before yours lol. I work for the federal gov so we don't get family day off. Lately every day at work is a gong show. I think I need some time off (I still have 11 days holidays left for this fiscal year - I clearly didn't take enough time off!!) because I'm really starting to get pissed off at work. I'm so tired of doing everything in power to do a good job, follow the proper process and be efficient while those who don't still get what they want and move forward. I wonder why I try so hard but then I realize that I just can't drop my good work ethic (thanks mom&dad lol). I'm getting tired of picking up everyone else's messes at work too. Yup I need a vacation. I also have class tonite so it's gonna be a long day. At least FI really helped me out by securing a daycare spot for my son and then seeing him off on the bus this am so I could have more time to get ready. I'm currently sitting in an info session for the gov debt reduction plan trying not to worry about the impact on the security of our jobs. I've been privy to some sensitive info about thus and I know my job is safe but I feel badly for those who are not going to be so lucky.

  mama - Your work story reminds me of me.  I always hit that point after awhile where I realize I need to take some time off!  I'm going to take 2 weeks at the wedding so I'm hoping to last until then but I don't know if I will make it

  
  

  This weekend we celebrated my mom's 50th  We had fun and she enjoyed having us all around.  Nothing new here, just work work and more work!

  i didn't get yesterday off, but i was surprised at how many people did! my FI didn't get it off either, but he said the trains were way less crowded, which is nice because he usually has to stand and i think he was able to get a seat.
  
  today is a normal tuesday. i plan on trying to make red beans and rice for dinner as a little mardi gras thing.
  
  it's so nice to be done with another round of house renovations. for the past 3 weeks, we had been preparing/painting the office, setting up furniture, returning/buying furniture, washing floors, etc. it's nice to be able to come home after work & the gym and just be able to relax. last night was our first night of that. plus we now have 2 more "finished" rooms!

  I had such a nice, long weekend.  FI worked all weekend so I got to relax and do stuff around the house.  I finished the personalized hangers for the girls and myself on Saturday night, I also started working on their tote bags that I'm going to put everything in.  I tried to work on my bouquet last night but that didn't work out so well so I had to put it down before I got frustrated, if anyone has tips I'd love to hear them.  I'm at the arranging part and it's not coming out the way I'd like it to.
  
  I love having a short week but this is my last short week until the first week of May so it's going to be a long 2 1/2 months.  Everyday here is different though so it makes time go by a little more quickly and wedding planning is starting to pickup again so I'm sure time will fly

  Yikes mamma...work sounds hectic.  Info session on debt reduction...can our govt listen in please? haha.  Congrats on the renovs kelly!  That's so exciting.  Jealous of your day off Britt.  I work in a hospital system (I'm only a fin analyst, not saving lives or anything) so we technically don't have holidays ever since people are always sick.  Our holiday time off is rolled into our vacation/sick day pool.  It actually worked out well because I chose to work my Christmas and new years holiday instead of taking it so I have extra days for some other time (which I'll need for the wedding).

  Morning! Seriously contemplating on going to buy cupcakes today at the shop FI & I are planning on getting our wedding cupcakes from. I'm working half days this week to help care for my mom while she recovers from surgery. I think she deserves a cupcake (or two) =]

  I worked every day this weekend, but my FI had three days off. He came to my work to have lunch with me yesterday and we went to Five Guys, YUM. Unfortunately, I am home sick from work today. I kind of saw it coming--my coworker was sitting next to me all day Sunday with a disgusting cold. That is why you stay home when you're sick, so you don't pass it on to other people! Can you tell I'm annoyed with him? haha

  Mama - the frustration sounds A LOT like what I had at the previous job. I'd work my butt off and watch others just coast by.... FRUSTRATED me to no end, but there wasn't much I could do because I couldn't morally let myself not do my best....
