Keg Question

We are getting married in June 2011 and our venue will allow us to bring in all our own drinks and food. My question is does anyone know about how much a keg costs and how far in advance it should be reserved? Any good suggestions on liquor stores in the Lenexa area would also be appreciated! Thanks!

    I would check into both Gomer's and Lucas Liquors.  For our wedding the bid from Lucas ended up being cheaper and they are delivering all of our alcohol and mixers for $50.  Kegs of domestics are around $120 and at most places and if you just want a single keg you can reserve it the day of your event and pick it up.  I know that Berbiglia always has a supply on hand to pick up day of.  Hope that helps!

    PP nailed it as far as my experience is concerned. 

    Make sure when you get quoted a keg price they are including the tap and damage/deposit fee too because that can get pricey.  I would recommend Cellar Rat, however, I am pretty sure that transporting alcohol over state lines without proper licensing is illegal so I would check with Lukas Liquor and Metcalf Discount liquor.  If you are planning to buy anything by the case see if the store offers a discount on cases or refunds on unopened cases/bottles.

    Another thing to think about  is how beer is in a keg. A keg generally has approx 190 pulls when I researched it.

    In terms of liquor, i'd check costco or sams (missouri side, since kansas doesn't sell it) because they seem to have pretty cheap liquor, and also have bottled beer if you are looking for that too
