Bridesmaid Gift

Does paying for the bridesmaids to have their make up done by a pro and their hair done sound like a good gift?

Re: Bridesmaid Gift

  • unfortunately if you're requiring your girls to get their hair/mu done and you're paying for it it doesn't count as a gift.  It's nice of you to pay for it, but you should probably look into getting them something in addition to it.
  • Not if it's getting their hair/make up done for the wedding, no.  If you mean a gift certificate for a salon to be used at their leisure, yes.
  • If you're requiring them to get their hair and makeup done, you need to pay.  It isn't a gift.

I wouldn't pay to have my hair and makeup done as a bridesmaid, so it wouldn't be a gift that I'd appreciate.
  • Shop for BM gifts as if it is for a birthday gift. What stores to they love? What are their hobbies and interests? Favorite sports teams? Do they collect anything? Go from there.

Paying for BM hair/makeup/nails etc is very nice and you can do so if you wish, but it should not be a part of their gift.

  • Like others have said, if you are requiring them to get it done or have it for their wedding, you pay for it and it is not considred a gift.

Bridesmaid gifts don't have to be large or elaborite, get them something you can afford.
  • Sorry. It's what you want, and that's fine, but if someone told me I was getting my hair and makeup done for free, my first thought would be, "What's wrong with me? What's wrong with how I look?" I wouldn't consider it a gift -- more like fulfilling an obligation.
