Grooms Cake

Hi Ladies,
 I was hoping that some of you had experience with the type of cakes that you would see on Ace of Cakes or Cake Boss? I would love to get something crazy made for my FI in addition to our traditional wedding cake.
I have used Lexington Square Cafe in Mt. Kisco for our engagement party cake, and they did an amazing job (we just did a sheet cake, but they used fondant to mimic the details on the invite) and it tastes fantastic. But this time I'm looking for something nontaditional, like a 3d type of thing following a theme.
I want to start searching out places now, we're a little over 6 months away. Our reception is at Glen Island is New Rochelle.. I guess any place that could deliver it would be best.

    Lulu's in scarsdale gets pretty good reviews on here! Write down all the things ur fh likes and google them as grooms cakes. You may get some ideas. Good luck!

    Yes, I used Lulu's to make acomic book themed cake for my hubby and it was AWESOME. I have also heard good things about Riviera Bakery in Ardsley.

    i used sweet lisa's in greenwich for the grooms cake. they did an awesome job and it was reasonably priced. it was a canoli filling, which was freaking awesome.

    I used Erica from Chic Sugars, she is located in Queens

    She was great to work with and ran with my idea, told her I wanted an NYPD car and she produced this

    Lulu's cakes are awesome and delish!
    Also, if you look on facebook for "Sweet Melissa's Cakes."
    She is on Long Island and is just getting into the business- don't worry, they deliver too.  I have never tasted any of the cakes, but they are so nice.

    good luck getting in touch with lulus. they never returned any of my calls or emails. i used plaza sweets bakery and htey were great and super reasonable!

    I fell in love the moment we walked in... whens your date!?!? I'm so excited to have it there, we actually went to a friends wedding there this past sept, and were so amazed, everything was perfect! good luck with your planning :)

    Thank you all so much for the ideas and the places... that yankee cake looks amazing!!

    Midgette my fiance is also NYPD... i will def be checking out your baker, that is such a great idea I love how yours looks, they really did an amazing job and I love the "cuffed for life"

    We are September 24th.
    My brother had his wedding there and they were unbelievable to work with!
