My fiance has been very upset lately.
His family went across the country for the holidays. They left on December 15, I believe. His birthday was December 19, and Christmas was today (the 25th).
Since they've been gone, he hasn't heard from them. His dad called him on the 18th, so we know they have cell service.
Nobody cared to call him and tell him Merry Christmas or Happy Birthday.
He's very upset about this. He's spent the entire holiday with me & my family, but he feels that his family doesn't care at all. He's very upset over this. I want to be able to cheer him up. Is there anything I can do?
Re: Fiance's Family
Just be there for them. They are probably very busy and haven't even realized that they forgot to call.
Im at my FI family for Christmas and probably New Years. I had to call my parents and family too. There's so much going on back home that they get very wrapped up in it. It wasn't that they were trying to be mean of neglectful, just busy.
I was just make sure 1st that they got to their destination ok, and then if he wants to call them, do it. If he's wanting to wait for them to call, let him wait.
Birthdays are one thing, but Christmas is a two way street, he could have easily called them too.
But I do agree, that would hurt my feelings a little too. We're all grown ups though so we should all be able to handle things like this. Give him a hug and kiss and keep him busy with your family
I would say all you can do is reassure him that its not really that big of a deal. Suggest that he call his family? All you can do is be there fore him.
he was worried more than anything.
they called. last night. at 2am.
